I saw Dr. Chao today for a few headaches Ive been getting. I waited for 20minutes in the waiting room and got a chance to speak w/ Dr. Chao for 20minutes.He explained everything that was going on and I had a great experience. I highly recommend Dr. Chao.thanks!
I just moved to SF from Berkeley about 6 mons ago. Dr. Chao is my family doctor in SF. His office is super nice and clean. Dr. Chao is also very professional. I was so lucky to meet him as my family doctor.
Dr Chao is a very good doctor. He answered all my questions, location ia easy to find and there is plenty of parking space.appointment is easy to make as well.
Update: I recently saw Dr. Chao again for another round of accupuncture for my headaches and pain. He doesnt take the American route of prescribing more and more painkillers because accupuncture does indeed help a lot! During my sessions he was friendly and careful and made it quite relaxing to visit the doctor (not many people would say that!) I was referred to him by a family friend months ago and Im very much grateful for that. Excellent quality doctor! Sometimes their staff is a little overbooked , but he is a popular doctor in my family so they probably take a lot of the open dates too.Definitely give him a visit! I recommend him by far
Dr. Chao is very kind and patient. He listened to my concern and explained to me thoroughly. I chose him to be my PCP because he also takes care of my mom for many years. Staffs are also helpful!
dr chao is a great doctor! he is patient and kindly answer all questions I have.
Doctor Chao have been my primary doctor for 15+ years! Even I have moved to the East Bay for years, Im still seeing doctor Chao because he is patient and always can provide medical solutions! He is the doctor that I trust! Thank you, doctor, Chao!
I was referred to this office by my medical insurance and I can say that I was skeptical at first but was honestly surprised by the quality of the check up. The staff worked efficiently and helped me set up an appointment at the time and date that best fit my schedule. The wait time wasnt too bad; I guess I went at a nonbusy hour of a weekday. The doctor was very friendly and I felt comfortable talking about my health issues. I havent yet been to the other office in Burlingame but I may start going there since its closer and has less parking problems than SF area.
Amazing doctor and staff. My mom came to the states to visit us and during her stay, she got some thyroiditis and we visited Dr Lawrence and we had a very nice experience. All of them speak both English and Chinese which made our experience good. They helped us to diagnose the issue very fast and they also explained very clearly about the insurance, how to use and whats the procedure. I can fully trust them and i hope in future we wont meet again. But if we have any health issue, we would love to see them again. Comparing to the other outpatient office, they are professional and awesome. Give it a try if you need an outpatient visit.
i have gone to dr. chao now for a few yeard as my primary care doctor really just for my annual physical. this past year after a swimming accident in mexico when i injured my nee and a major fall resulting in a tramatic brian injury here on june 15th and the need for shoulder surguery, the doctor, his assistant willa, the staff n.p and the balance of the team has been outstanding in providing medical care across many care areas. i have had to see many doctors and the chao staff has been key in all of this. i strongly endorse them. so much, due to my surgery three days ago, i am writing this one handed... ed reidy san francisco

All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
