Dr. Luong has been my primary care physician for about three years now. I've seen her many times for small or larger health-related issues. She is a doctor who really cares about her patient a lot. She is well-knowledged family physician who you can really trust. She also refers you to the best specialists when needed. Also, it's super easy to get an appointment with her. The waiting time in her office is usually less than 15 minutes. I highly recommend her to anyone who seeks a primary care physician!

Dr. Luong puts the rest of American health care to shame. She is what a doctor should be.  Dr. Luong is knowledgeable, professional, and above all caring.  Never had an issue making appointments, and always a very short wait in the waiting room.  In the exam room, she listens, takes notes, and takes time to explain everything.  She promptly follows up with calls to discuss lab results and give further directions and advises.  With Dr. Luong, my wife and I know that she actually cares for our health and well being.  She is a rare find for anyone who is looking for a doctor that is capable and caring.

My husband and I switched to Dr. Luong after our PCP retired.  She is an extraordinary physician -- caring, smart, attentive, knowledgeable.  We appreciate the wealth of information she has at her fingertips, and the extraordinary time she has devoted to us. We also appreciate her office assistant and the time he has taken to help us sort out insurance issues. Just be aware that the office is rather plain, especially the waiting room, but you won't notice after a couple of office visits.

I needed a new GP since my other doctor retired.  I wanted someone in Berkeley and  was a woman and much younger than me so I gave Dr. Luong a chance.  On our second meeting she spent over an hour with me and listening to my issues of my health concerns.  She gave me options so I felt I was involved in making my own decisions of my healthcare, she is very easy to talk to but I felt she also knows her stuff.  She is very prompt getting back to you with test results so you don't worry needlessly.  I plan to keep her well into my retirement years.

She's a smart, competent doctor who lays out your options and possible diagnoses (if there's more than one), tells you the pros and cons of those options, and then leaves you wanting to visit yet again because your experience was just that great.She doesn't keep people waiting, and doesn't hurry patients. I had an 8:30 appointment to check out a digestive issue. She made sure to take her time and even let me slide into the next appointment slot, as she had no one else coming that day.That means I got more than One HOUR of direct, one-on-one patient doctor interaction. I got to ask so many questions, and got a through check-up on my whole health, not just the single issue that I came in for. She took detailed notes, made sure to call about tests, and didn't get me crap (and even checked up!) when I crummily forgot to do some blood tests due a cold and the busy holiday season. She answered all my questions with a smile, and her staff is so friendly as well. Yes, she speaks with a slight accent and so does her staff -- but it's clear that her English comprehension is more than adequate, and her accent is actually very charming. I've never recommended a doctor before, but I highly recommend her.

She listens to my concerns, explains all the procedures to me, and doesn't judge me at all, no matter what stupid things I admit to. I recommend her completely.

It really says something when a doctor gets me to finally make a yelp account.I've been to several doctors, but Dr. Luong is the best around. She really takes the time to care about her patients. Furthermore, she has the amazing habit of explaining to you the possible procedures and their ramifications. Every time she's given me a shot, she shows the needle to ME so I can see what is being put into me. Instead of pushing procedures on me, she's actually convinced me not to get costly tests that I really didn't need. That's an amazing trait.I can't believe she still has slots open. With her amazing affability, I would expect her schedule to be chock full; instead, I have easily gotten same-day appointments. I would recommend anyone to quickly sign up with her before her schedule fills up!

Dr. Luong is amazing!  I am so used to docs that rush in and don't listen (or take the time to listen) but Dr. Luong leaves lots of time for each patient and she really cares about you and how she can help you.  I was very impressed with how thorough and well informed she was - she really focuses on you and what you need (pretty rare now a days!).  I asked her about a specific vaccination for my son and she presented both sides - what the CDC recommends and also the risk of side effects - I felt she was fair and allowed me to make my own decision as to what was best for my son.  Dr. Luong is very conscientious, she calls you back with lab results and follows-up on any questions you may have.   I agree with the other reviewers - if you were sick, you would be safe in Dr. Luong's hands and she would do her best to get you well again.  Great doctor!!!

I was very impressed with this doctor. She is knowledgeable, helpful, and thoughtful. She spent more than a hour for the annual exam much of it gathering medical and family history (it has been decades since I saw a doctor who was actually interested in spending time with a patient!). When I asked her about the encephalitis vaccine for children, she presented me with both sides of the picture and made it clear that there were pros and cons to both. I really glad we found such a great doctor!
