Worst receptionist ever.Simply hung up on me because I called at 1:00 PM, which happened to be their lunch hours.If I would have been a manager at this practice, I would have fired the receptionist for this rude attitude.Look for other doctors in the area. Not worth the trouble.

Dr. Kasalek has always been a fabulous internist and general doctor. Every single problem that I have presented with he has made time to see me quickly and has had extensive knowledge on the subject matter he is great at referring out to appropriate positions when the need arises and he is good with following up if you need to put in a call to his office. This review is intended to provide information on Dr. Kasalek has a primary care physician although his specialty is in kidney I do not use him for that.

This doctor can be very friendly if he likes you. Another review states that he has a sanction for having an inappropriate relationship with a patient.

I was a patient of Dr. Kasselik; he was my primary care physician. I left for the following reasons: 1.  He seemed rather cold and detached.  I could put up with this if I thought his work was adequate, but I came to believe it was not.2.  He was of virtually no help with my obesity issue.  When I first saw him, I was overweight, but not obese.  As my weight increased, and I continued to express concern, pretty much all I got from him were statements such as as you get older, your metabolism slows down, eat more fruits and vegetables, exercise  more.  He was not as specific as I would have liked.  A friend of mine, who is not a health care professional, suggested two specific minor changes to my diet; I lost 15 pounds in three months, and am no longer in the obese category.  3.  He was not good about returning telephone calls.When I saw my new doctor, he did not write a prescription that Dr. Kasselik had written for many years.  My new doctor said that the prescribed dosage was twice that recommended by the manufacturer, and would put a strain on my kidneys, which were not in the best of shape.  One curious thing about thiskidneys are Dr. Kasseliks specialty.

Dr. Kasselik is a very reliable, knowledgable and hands on doctor.  He does not blow off his patients and treats them with personal care.  I have never had a question unanswered and calls were returned promptly.  He is very patient and willing to explain everything.  His office staff are very courteous and always willing to answer questions, may it be in person or over the telephone.  BEST DOCTOR IN THE BAY AREA.  I am so lucky to have him take care of my health.

I have know Dr. Kasselik both as a nurse in the intensive care unit and as a patient. He is thoughtful, caring and always treated me with respect. If he could not help me an issue, he has been able to refer me to those who could. I am glad to have him as my primary care physician.

Lesson one trust your referring doctor, check objective facts such as Board certification in the doctors specialty and lack of medical board actions, and dont take a single subjective opinion too seriously. My spouse presented a complex series of symptoms to Dr. Kasselik, and he listened carefully, asked good questions, and provided good answers and followup testing. He spent over 40 minutes with us, and we were completely impressed by his intelligent, warm, and informed treatment.
