List of Mark Marin's Reviews
Dr. Marin doesnt seem to be a very knowledgeable doctor. Hes nice, easy to get an appointment with and will give the patient the full four minutes allotted, but if you have any problem other than an ear ache or ankle sprain, better go to UCSF where the real top notch physicians practice. Sad to say, Ive found that many of the community docs in SF are, like Marin, second tier.
The front desk is often rude, brusque and inefficient. Dr. Marin is fine if/when you get in, but good luck getting that far. I agree with the other reviewers about going elsewhere for anything serious.
Dr. Marin is a guy you might go to with minor ailments. He has an affable demeanor and sees patients on time. Another plus is that an appointment is generally easy to get, if hes not on vacation. However, Dr. Marin just didnt seem to have much knowledge of medicine. I accompanied a friend on several office visits. Not surprisingly, he was unable to diagnose her ailment, nor was he particularly curious about it. (She has since received excellent treatment from a different physician.) Again, Dr. Marin might be a fair choice for common complaintsa spider bite or earacheas long as they didnt take more than a few minutes of patient/doctor face time. Coming from a medical family, however, I know what good health care should look like, and this was seriously below par.
Dr. Mark Marin is outstanding. Hes been my primary care lead for 10+ years. I cant say enough good things about him. Hes a great doctor and smart, caring, nononsense, certified good human. One thing that may sum it up he follows up to see how youre doing. When was the last time you received a phone call from your doc, out of the blue, to see how you are doing? Ill never forget that.
Disclaimer: I never met Dr. Marin. I was scheduled to see him for the first time. Due an error caused by his office in switching my primary care doctor to him, there was a delay while we straightened out the problem with the insurance company. This was done while I was there, and because of the slight delay, I was going to be seen roughly 10 minutes late. Again, not my fault, but the fault of his office. The doctor refused to see me (the staff checked with him, I was told). I was asked to reschedule, which of course I refused. I got another doctor. I wrote him a letter expressing my feelings, and did not get a response. BTW, I am also a physician.
Ive been a patient for over 20 years. Very happy with my care. He is very attentive and knowledgeable. There is never a long wait . He always calls me about my lab results asap. Great bedside manners. Ive known Dr. Marin since his residency years.
I dont understand the negativity ......I have seen Dr Marin for almost 10 years ....... has always been very good ..... has listened carefully, has recommended appropriate treatments, has been empathetic, when I have needed a quick response then I have received it ...... I have not had bad experiences with the front office admin staff ...... so I dont really understand the level of negativity that I have seen here and hence this review ...... hes a good doctor, nice person, pretty responsive ......
Mark Marin has been my primary for twenty+ years. Ill be incredibly sad when he no longer wants to go into the office. Hes caring, compassionate, attentive and knowledgable what more can you ask of an internist? nothing.
Great doctor. Im happy with him. I go in with a problem and come out with a solution. I need clear goals and Dr. Marin has always made them clear.
Dr Marin is very kind and smart doctor. I was referred to him by another doctor and I personally would highly recommend him.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
