Similar to others here I had a VERY bad experience with this dr. Stay away. Posted under OneMedical the full review but basically if you are complex shes not interested and only willing to spend one hour on medical records not more cant believe she actually said that out loud. Said she was unwilling to coordinate care outside of OneMedical with other drs such as UCSF and CPMC said I knew more than she did that is alarming and that she wouldnt even know what blood work to order. Also cant believe she said that out loud. How is this dr even practicing? Shame on OneMedical to allow her to practice there. Especially given these negative reviews.
UGH. Went in for a preop for an upcoming surgery. Im fit, thin and in great shape. No history of health issues. She did an EKG and blood pressure test, telling me my blood pressure was super high. Also, second time I asked for Chantix to stop smoking. First time, she recommended Wellbutrin instead (say what? an antidepressant? Im not depressed). Second time, she basically said no. Also said I was due for a bone scan (have osteopenia and was concerned it had morphed into full osteoporosis). I walked out with nothing. Instead, paid $1200 to see another dr. out of my network. He was alarmed by the blood pressure/EKG results and immediately ordered a comprehensive set of blood tests. He then put me on blood pressure and cholesterol medicine (cholesterol was also sky high). He told me Im at risk of a stroke and he was alarmed I walked out of Flahertys office with nothing (despite EKG and blood pressure readings). He also ordered the bone scan (now have Osteoporosis) and put me on Chantix (Ive since stopped smoking). I asked Dr. F through the app for the process of switching Drs within One Medical. No response. Extremely unprofessional, not thorough and clearly minimizes issues
Dr. Flaherty did an amazing job helping me diagnose my hearing sensitivity, and went above and beyond in helping me find the right treatment. I highly recommend Dr. Flaherty she has excellent bedside manner, makes sure that your concerns are listened to, and asks the right questions to get at the root of what the issue is.
Im extremely disappointed. Six months ago my wife gave birth to twins after an extremely difficult pregnancy with several trips to the ER following doctor recommendations. An atrial flutter was detected at one point, there were concerns of blood clots due to extreme swelling in the legs, and preeclampsia was feared as well. All tests, however, came back normal even though my wife was forced to quit exercising during her pregnancy due to waves of extreme fatigue and blurred vision. After she almost died due to complications during childbirth and doctors still couldnt tell us a reason, we were ready to just move on. We recently moved to the area, and while looking for a new GP I saw several glowing reviews for Dr. Flaherty, including a couple that described how she really got in the weeds on issues other doctors had ignored or written off. I eagerly sent my wife the information and had her set up an appointment. Unfortunately, without even seeing the medical records, Dr. Flaherty immediately discounted everything as a run of completely normal, but unfortunate incidents that would be corrected with some weight loss. This was surprising to hear, because as I said, our doctors with full access to test results and records couldnt pinpoint any cause. Needless to say, she felt disrespected by the immediate write off after the hope the other reviews had instilled in her, and I cant apologize enough for recommending Dr. Flaherty in the first place.
Very rude and dismissive encounter. Judging from the other very positive reviews, I can hardly believe this is the same woman I had an appointment with. She was very impatient, responded to my health comcerns with anger and rudeness, and pushed me out the door in less than five minutes. The reason for my visit? Inconclusive test results regarding possible organ infection. Not exactly a small matter and even if it was, her behavior as a professional doctor was inappropriate. If she was having a bad day, theres no reason to take it out on a patient. It was enough to finally turn me off from One Medical.
Dr. Flaherty has been absolutely wonderful! Ive periodically pursued diagnosis and treatment for some bizarre lifelong health problems, but I was frequently turned away by doctors who seemed not to take my concerns seriously. From the start of my first appointment Dr. Flaherty implicitly believed all of the symptoms that I described to her and spent considerable time coming up with hypotheses and developing a solid plan for moving forward.Dr. Flaherty has shown me tremendous patience. When a new piece of the puzzle didnt seem to fit she would sit in silence, brow furrowed, the cogs visibly turning. This was a refreshing change from the immediate dismissal of its probably just stress that I had become so accustomed to hearing from other physicians.Ive recently received a diagnosis, and have discovered other family members whove experienced the same problems but were never able to get help. Were finally able to exert control over our health.
Dr Flaherty is a great doctor. Great attention to detail and to the patient. She picked up a condition with me that had not been seen by other doctors and was attentive with followup. I find she is very easy to speak to and creates a relaxed and informal environment, but also very professional. Definately recommend.
A truly great doctor. Dr. Flaherty is extremely smart, and provides inspired and intelligent solutions to even the most difficult problems. Each time I go to her office with a problem, she spends the time with me to carefully come up with a new solution to help. You never get the impression that shes trying to rush you out the door. And she has great ideas. In fact, Dr. Flaherty is so smart that she has come up with solutions to my rare and unusual health problem that even my best specialists didnt think of. She isnt afraid of a challenge, and is the doctor I trust most to give me a straight answer about anything regarding my health. In addition to all this talent and intelligence, Dr. Flaherty is the best kind of doctor kind and compassionate. It is obvious that she truly wants to help you get better. I cant say enough about how much she has helped me. The world needs more doctors like her!
I have nothing but great things to say about Dr. Flaherty. I have had some mixed experiences at one medical in general, and a few of my favorite doctors have left over the years, but she is excellent. She diagnosed a somewhat obscure illness, and followed up with me continually until I got better. She was never bothered with my many questions, and ordered all necessary tests quickly and followed up for the results. She is caring and extremely knowledgable.
Dr. Flaherty is one of the most responsive physicians I have had the pleasure to work with EVER. Thanks for staying in business! One Medical works so well! She is solving a problem I have had for months that a previous physican told me to just get more sleep! Lovely doctor. Thanks for the excellent services.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
