MIchael Schrader's Online Review Report Card

It is now near the end of August 2020.  In December 2019, officially and properly a request for my medical records from Dr. Schraders office was made by the records office of my new physician; I discovered today the request had blatantly been ignored.   So not surprising!

Dr Schrader or his office idiots are still just as poor as before. I need an update for my pain med 5but when transferred my prescription to my employer paid plan and only got a 30 day supply without alerting  me. My attendant was not aware of the error as was my attendant. I called Dr Schraders but got no response. The upshot is me in excruciating pain and not knowing what to do. So no thanks to Schrader or his inept staff  I am stll STUCK IN BED  and  IN BED. month.

Dr. Schrader gave a pretty good annual physical, and in the early years he was pleasant and chatty.  I liked him.  For the 20+ years as his patient I saw him for annual physicals; younger and healthier I required actual doctoring on average once a year.  Entering my 70s my health changed rather drastically, as unfortunately did Dr. Schrader.  Although I see several specialists, I have needed to see Dr. Schrader a few times in the last year and a half.   To see Dr. Schrader you are first interrogated by his rude principal front desk droid (I could write reams about her).  She passes along your complaint to the doctor and he then phones you at home later that evening to determine whether you are appointmentworthy, or he may simply prescribe over the phone.  Hes never appeared to enjoy this task, often times coming across as testy, which I always charitably wrote off as overwork.  But I avoided his receptionist, and hearing the irritation in his voice was always upsetting.  I decided enough was enough when his annoyed testiness evolved into totally unwarranted derisive sarcasm.  As one incredulous, hurt and confused longtime patient of Dr. Schrader observed in her Yelp review, ... something has changed.  Shes right about that.Just before finally leaving Dr. Schrader for good I ordered a refill for a lifesaving medication.  It was necessary for the doctor to approve the refill, but the pharmacy informed me Dr. Schraders office wasnt responding.  Five weeks later(!) my pharmacy notified me the prescription was ready for pickup.   Fortunately I received the medication the day immediately after meeting with my new physician.  Another reviewer says Dr. Schrader is no longer taking new patients.  A wise move!!!

Regardless of how good these doctors might be which the one I have been seeing (Schrader) is very hit or miss he is a country bumpkin doctor; his appointment scheduler is the very rudest person I have ever encountered in the Healthcare industry in my 60 plus years of living on this planet. She yells at patients and often when you talk to her she will not look you in the eye or respond to you when you are talking to her even when asking her questions. Schrader and the other doctors there lets her get away with it and then she and the good doctors act like your the problem and not her. Her name is Tiffany and she is Asian.  She is the healthcare front office staffer from hell.  I am so really tired of her abuse and nasty behavior. No patient deserves to be treated like this.  She needs to be fired. I have seen her yell at other patients when I was in the waiting room. The other front office Asian lady is not much better and can also be stand offish and somewhat rude. Luckily for all of you, Schrader is not taking new patients. And heaven forbid if you need to see him sooner due to a health emergency, it could take a while to get an appointment.  NOT SURE HOW YOU CURRENT PATIENTS OF THIS OFFICE PUT UP WITH THIS ABUSIVE FRONT OFFICE STAFF?

My husband has been a patient for years.  Last year I saw Dr. Schrader for the first time.  He took lots of time, listened to all my concerns and gave me good advice.  As for the office staff, they seemed to be kind and competent.  Maybe these negative reviews come from people who are sick and therefore upset.  The office handles a huge number of patients apparently.

Dr. Schrader has been my primary physician for years but something has changed. I called to get a prescription authorized for a reduced price from the manufacturer but Tiffany was very unpleasant. And I called her a b###ch. I had to pay over $150 twice a month without my insurance. I live on social security.I dont know what is going on in that office but Schrader insisted I apologize. I did. And now I am stuck in bed due to a heart attack and leg wouñd. I need physical therapy but Schrader is balking about signing the referral.

Dr. Michael Schrader has the worst doctors office possible. His office secretary/assistant, Tiffany, is a sad person who will never smile or exhibit any compassion or in any way try to be helpful. She is not fit for a job in healthcare. She is unhelpful and Dr. Schrader seems unaware of this problem or doesnt care, or just closes his eyes to the problem. You will likely have to call and recall to get a prescription handled. Dr. Schrader is a nice person and probably a good doctor, but his office makes things very difficult and he is responsible for that office and office culture. I would not recommend working with Dr. Schrader because hes a 95 guy with an office (Tiffany) that is nothing more than an answering service when it comes to any kind consideration. Never mind compassion for a patient. Schrader has no physicians assistant or anyone else who can handle ANYTHING at all no matter how simple or obvious. He might take a day or two or three  to call you back. He might take a week or two to respond to a pharmacy. When he gets a blood test, you have to chase him down to find out the results. If hes away from the office, forget about hearing from him. The doctor on call didnt call me recently over a long weekend. Its a mess over there.

Dr. Schrader has been my primary doctor for many years.  I highly recommend him both for general check ups and other issues. Even though he is very busy he always spends time with me, even for the check ups.  He gets back to me on the phone if I have other issues and has recently been very responsive in seeing me for some other serious issues I am having.  He is empathetic,  funny, and very knowledgeable. He is well connected if you need referrals and will research options for referrals through his colleagues.  When my insurance changed I researched the options for coverage so I could still keep Dr. Schrader, even though the insurance was more expensive .  He is everything you expect in a primary doctor, caring, responsive and as one of his other patients said He has the personality and expertise of that long lost family doc.

Outstanding internist.Hes smart, empathetic, and knowledgeable.He can fit you in if something acute is going on.Its harder to do this with private practice now.The office staff works hard.I changed to Kaiser bc its more affordable.Theyre geared for getting you in fast.  Id rather PAY CASH to see Dr. Schrader for visits bc hes my doc.

I found Dr. Schrader to be caring, attentive, and knowledgeable.  When dealing with a medical emergency, Dr. Schrader will make the time to see you that very day.  He will listen to your concerns and address each one of them.  My only regret is that there is only one of him!
