This melanoma clinic is one of the top in the world. I have chatted with several cancer survivors who praise this team, which includes Dr Stanley Leong, a noted, very experienced surgeon and Dr. Kim, a very experienced oncologist. Dr. Leong has provided incredible care, and made himself available at late hours and over the holidays to answer our questions. Cancer care has undergone a revolution in the last several years with immunotherapy treatments. This group involved involved in cutting edge trails and are published. They are very current on treatment options, and the risk trade offs. These folks provide a caring, high expertise service to folks at a most stressful point in their lives. But cancer treatment is rough physically and psychologically, and you definitely should get second opinions on their recommendations. Not everybody has success despite expert advise and care. Cancer treatment seems to involve trade offs with varying odds of success. It's really hard to find good social service support, and they don't really offer that, and that seems to be the case for the whole Bay Area. They are hard to get an appointment with, with long waiting lists, so don't delay in getting on their calendars.
So impressed with both Dr. Kashani-Sabet and Dr. Leong. The best of the best! Thorough and concise, professional and caring group. Will is absolutely amazing as well. He recommended Lymphadema therapy post surgery and took the time to find a local therapist as well.Fiancée initially diagnosed Stage 2B Melanoma. Post surgery diagnosed Stage 3C with a 5.5 ulcerated tumor excision, margins takenand axillary lymph node removal (18.). Node 2b lit. Per their recommendation, 480 Opdivo infusions started monthly for 12 months. Almost 1/2 way through immunotherapy now. Typical Opdivo side effects such as fatique, headaches and rash but considering the alternative, thus far, this has been a walk in the park. We have learned so much from them and feel informed and confident undergoing treatment. We see them in November for follow-up and are thankful every single day knowing he has the best care available. Highly recommended.

Dr. Kashani is the best. He took care of my melanoma in 2007, and has treated me ever since then - I followed him from UCSF to CPMC. He is not only an excellent clinician, but he is a cutting-edge leader in cancer research, and his entire staff is wonderful. I look forward to seeing him each year because he is so nice and caring. Highly recommend him!!
Dr. Kashani is a world renowned expert in melanoma. I was diagnosed with Stage 3 Melanoma in 1998 and was very fortunate to have Dr. Kashni direct my cancer treatment. He is absolutely the best in this field. Shortly after my diagnosis, I sought a second opinion from another top melanoma specialist. He told me to do whatever Dr. Kashani recommended. Good advice.
I first saw Dr. Kashani in December, 2008 after I was diagnosed with Stage 3 melanoma. I was referred to him by my brother who is a physician in California. Dr. Kashani reviewed my PET scan and then referred me to Dr. Mark Singer, who performed a Radical Neck Dissection. Following surgery, Dr. Kashani, along with Dr. Singer, set out my post-op treatment. Dr. Kashani's incredible bedside manner and his communicative style assisted me greatly during the months following my surgery and during my year-long chemotherapy. As a Canadian, I am self-pay, yet continue to see him on a yearly basis for check-ups and to discuss the latest research on melanoma treatment. He never rushes through the appointment and is always available to answer questions and provide direction. A world-class specialist. Highly recommended!
This is a review after my first appointment. Dr Kashani had an incredible bedside manner and was very professional. I will update my review as I continue to see him, but left very impressed with the amount of time he spent during the appointment and exam vs most doctors these days that are half engaged, rushing and barely listening. He was very thorough in his skin check and offered to track down my original pathology report which will likely take some investigative work.
Because of my truly horrible experience with this group, I would recommend that you go elsewhere. It is definitely necessary to get a second opinion before accepting any diagnoses or surgical intervention from them.
Dr. Kashani-Sabet was absolutely wonderful when I saw him. I lost my father to Melanoma just over a year ago. Dr. Kashani-Sabet was so thorough with my skin check and discussing my risk factors. He was very compassionate and professional. I highly recommend him.
I had a fabulous experience with Dr. Kashani-Sabet and his staff. They were all friendly, organized, helpful and happy. I had a spot appear on my face and I was convinced it was a basil cell carcinoma. They were great. I found him on my insurance website and wasn't sure how it would go as I could find no reviews. I saw he had no history of malpractice lawsuits but that was about it. The entire experience was great and it turns out my skin is fine. Somehow I got eczema on my face. I had never had it before. Got some Kiels Midnight Recovery Serum and it was gone in a few days. Great doctor and staff! He specializes in Melanoma and really serious skin cancer cases so he recommended I see another dermatologist for upkeep. Glad I went to the best.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
