List of Nancy Bohannon's Reviews
I knew Dr. Nancy Bohannon many years ago back in the mid-1970s'. She was such a caring and kind person and I am sure she continues to be that way. A great smile and so compassionate. She guided me in my beginning days as a health professional. An absolute joy to know.
Nancy is brilliant! I have a rare blood sugar condition and she was recommended to my through the Mayo Clinic when i had no where else to turn. The regular specialists I have seen treat me like it's all in my head. But 30 years ago i had seen Dr. Atkins who figured it out via longer blood tests and wrote about my condition in his book. Nancy not only can read the blood tests she is beyond knowledgable and has figured out what is going on every time I hit a wall with a problem. She's the best ever! She also has a lot of compassion for people - what a combo!
I'm hypoglycemic and was diagnosed by THE Dr Atkins in Manhattan in the 80's. My UCSF skin doctor gave me a medication and did not ask if I was hypoglycemic. I got all the rare reactions landing in the emergency room twice. I was so weak and sick over a month. I told the emergency docs, my GP and the UCSF endocrinology I was hypoglycemic and it was my blood sugar and none of them would believe me. They treated me like it was in my head.A friend suggested i go to Mayo Clinic and they were too booked and recommended one of their former specialists in SF where I live. He was retired and gave me two recommendations. I booked Nancy Bohannon and was able to get in within a matter of days! Well worth every penny - in my 2 hour session she figured out what the problem was - yes it was my blood sugar and with a different diet my problem was gone! I am no longer in the UCSF system. Nancy is brilliant and really knows her stuff. She listens, problem solves and you know she is looking and considering you as a real person. I was able to ask her anything and get an answer. She has a very cool dog too who is cute as a button ; - )I highly recommend her!!
The Dr has always been very clear and through in her instructions and expectations. In fact she is the only Dr I have ever encountered that not only wrote out what we talked about but also her instructions, and she gave you a copy so that you knew exactly what was expected. As far as her bedside manner. She is only Dr. I have encountered that will sit in a stool eye to eye with you and not across the room.
My last appointment with her - it was more important her ego and being right. She called me a liar as I worked on all the instructions she had given me. and she has an expected out come in her head and she insists that that is correct and ignores the patient- She starts as amazing and inspires you to work--but she expects failure and her failure speech is more important than the patients success.
Nancy has been my diabetic specialist for 5 years now, and has improved my A1c from 11 to 6 almost immediately. She's very technical, well read, a national speaker on diabetes, and really up to date on different treatments. She's made a BIG improvement in my health. I recommend her heartily. Mack Terry

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
