I've been going to Noriega Acupuncture Clinic for years. I can't say enough about Dr. Chen . He's treated me for a myriad of ailments and issues. (sounds bad, but it really isn't). Anyway, if you want to experience a master at work, go here. The Acupuncture works and it's a respite in my day

I was referred to this place by a friend who had a hard time to conceive and was able to get pregnant twice thanks to dr Chen. After recovering of my Leukemia I trued to get pregnant and got a miscarriage the first time we tried. After 5 months of struggling getting pregnant again I decided to contact dr Chen. After bringing blood work results of my hormonal status, he gave me some herbal infusions to make at home on top of some acupuncture sessions. The month after I got pregnant. Might be a coincidence but then as the due date was coming close and nothing was moving, my obgyn told me I would probably deliver pass due date. So I went back to ask some help and he asked me to come twice a day for 5 days, morning and evening (my fault I came too close to the due date and he needed some extra work to make things happened). I ended up giving birth 2 days before the due date. Then I got another miscarriage 2 years later but the fœtus wouldn't go out, I didn't wanted the medication as it was so painful the first time. I decided to go back to dr Chen. This time his wife took care of me. I went 3 times. She said after the 3rd time if nothing would happen I would have to get the medication. But sure enough on the evening after the 3rd session, I started bleeding and a couple days later the miscarriage occurred. They also helped me recover along the way from injuries in my neck and hip. This isn't a fancy place like you would see in most of San Francisco acupuncture center, it's more authentic Chinese experience, but they are masters in that domain and I will keep using there services as long as they are offering it! Acupuncture isn't magic, it needs several sessions in order to feel results, but it sure works! Too bad that most of insurances doesn't cover this kind of services.

Dr. Chen is a skilled and compassionate health care provider with years of experience that he brings to bear on even the most complex health problems. He is holistic and discerning in his approach. I received excellent care for my back pain and help with stress and inflammation in my system. I highly recommend him.

This guy is psycho. My son has been coming for treatment for 2 weeks. He said my son has to come 6x a week. Each time is $70! First of all i have a budget concern. Second of all we have a life, we have to work, and my son has school to go. But we're committed and we wanted the result so we've been consistent but we called to let him know that we couldn't come on 4th of july because it's holiday and we decided to go out of town. He went crazy yelling on me over the phone and told me not to come again if i cannot bring my son 6x a week. He is also false analyzing by saying that my whole family has parasites because we have a dog! Anyway, this guy is a joke and RUDE, no wonder he runs his business like a mess.

i've read the other reviews--and i have to say, i agree with them regarding dr chen. My sister (who is a MD) and I have been visiting Dr Chen and his wife for the past 15 years, sending all our friends who ask for a referral, and also my employees who sometimes have something appropriate that acupuncture can treat. it's funny, because in general, i'm skeptical of eastern medicine, even though i grew up with accupuncture, herbal medicine, and asian cultural practices towards health. i can say that accupuncture is not for all things--but for me, it has worked to speed healing of broken bones, sprains, cramps, strains, and i've heard it can even help with getting pregnant. it's never made anything worse--but in my assessement, it probably helped to make things better. what is it not so good at? i have no idea--but like all things in life, there is never one solution for everything. i can say that accupuncture seems to specialize in understand how your body's nervous system is connected to each other (the meridians) and trying to trigger certain responses in the nervous system to help with various ailments. So perhaps not all things can be cured with that approach. at the beginning of the exam, as is standard in chinese medicine, dr chen looks at your tongue and checks your pulse. he has said some eerily accurate things to me based on my tongue somehow. (i often feel--why waste money on palm reading (which is truly BS) when you can have a genuine expert tell you relevant things about your health by reading your tongue?) once i brought in a friend who harbored a lot of resentful feelings towards life--we all have one of those friends, right? but she was mostly suffering from low energy. and without her having said a word, he looked at her tongue and told her she needed to let go of her anger. i asked him how he knew that, and he explained it. my friend and i were astonished. after the initial exam he might recommend accupuncture. and having some needles skillfully placed in a dimly lit room for 15 minutes can actually be relaxing in today's mobile phone/twitter age. after the accupuncture, he and his wife may recommend some traditional chinese herbs. if you're chinese you know exactly what that smells like. in general, i do tend to think chinese herbal medicine does work in increasing stamina or creating balance. i mean thousands of years of history can't be wrong, right? :) but i leave it to each person to try it for themselves. and while i remain a cautiously skeptical user of all medical services (both asian and western), at least if you are going to try accupuncture and chinese herbal medicine--try it at a bona fide place. that way if you try it and decide it's not for you, at least you can feel confident that you gave it your best shot, rather than wondering if you simply went to a less effective practitioner, etc. over the many years, we have felt dr chen and his wife are not only extremely professional, but honest--which is always so important in medical matters.

I have nerve pain in my foot between the metatarsals. I figured I'd try acupucture for it. I found Dr. Chen nearby so I went to see him. When you walk in it's quite an experience. There are boxes of herbs piled high so there are only small aisles to walk down. There was a woman sitting in a collapsible chair in the aisle. I told her I wanted to try acupuncture and she said it would work for my foot. She asked when I wanted to come in. I told her, she said it was too busy that time and I should choose another. Now she was not looking at any appointment book. So I chose another time and she said that would be fine. She wrote nothing and handed me a piece of paper lying on the herbs for me to write my name. I showed up and Dr. Chen took me in a room and took my history. He said acupuncture would definitely help so we started that day. The charge was $80. He put in the needles and left the room. About 20 minutes later he came back, took out the needles and I paid him. He said I need to come back as soon as possible for it to work. So I came back the next day. Same thing. He took about 5 minutes to put in the needles and left. Another $80. On my third visit I told him I was not getting any relief and I said it was too expensive to keep coming back and paying $80 and not get relief. He agreed. Put in the needles and left. He took my $80 when he was done. I expected some sort of explanation but he just walked away. So I spent $240 for no relief. I've had acupuncture before and when it was done the person would put in the needle and place it so you would feel a twinge like it hit the right spot. It made you feel like it was doing something. Not here. He put in the needles, I felt nothing.

He got me walking after being hit with a giants ball. Horrible concussion and he helped me tremendously he is amazing I am thrilled with him!!!

Way more than meets the eye to this place! Dr. Chen helped me quit smoking last year and I'm still off the gnarly cigs and lovin it. I went to him for my neck and shoulder, both to which he provided major relief. I rarely had issues parking in spite of the slightly bustling neighborhood. Also, I would recommend him to anyone trying to conceive, tho I was not.

This place is run by a couple who really know what they're doing. The place looks didn't and not so great from the outside. I've passed by this place at least 1,000 times over the years since it's in my parent's neighborhood, but I didn't even know the place was in business. It appears pretty dark. Well i went inside and I was surprised by the size of the place inside. They sell lots of Chinese herbs too so the aroma of the place is interesting to say the least. I went in for a pulled hamstring from ballet. I was desperate for anything that might help at this point. Acupressure massages and rest didn't help for a month, so I tried this place. I've done acupuncture before, and I wasn't a believer. Nothing ever seemed to work. Well, now I'm a believer!! Right after leaving from my first session, I felt the same. It wasn't until the next morning that it felt a little better. I'm writing this review two days later and it's almost completely painless! I'm going to go back next week for another session to see if it can completely heal after that. Yes, this place deserves More than 5 stars
