Dr. Chansky is truly an exceptional dermatologist! From my first appointment, I was immediately struck by his warmth and genuine kindness. One thing that sets Dr. Chansky apart is his ability to truly listen and understand the concerns of his patients. During my visits, it’s evident that he cares deeply about my overall well-being. Over the course of the past year, Dr. Chansky has consistently provided me with high-quality care. What impresses me most is his extensive expertise and his commitment to developing a treatment plan tailored to my specific needs. When sharing a sensitive psoriasis diagnosis, Dr. Chansky handled it with remarkable empathy and a reassuring demeanor. What truly distinguishes Dr. Chansky is his dedication to ensuring that I feel seen and heard during each visit. He takes the time to address all my questions and concerns, leaving me with a sense of confidence in the care I am receiving. Dr. Peter Chansky is the dermatologist I've been waiting my whole life for! He was the first doctor to correctly diagnose and treat my acne and rosacea after decades of struggling, and now my skin is completely clear. His cosmetic treatments, including laser resurfacing, are also incredible and they have dramatically improved the look of my skin. I trust Dr. Chansky completely and will continue seeing him for many years to come.

Dr. Chansky is the absolute BEST!! It's so evident that he is passionate about his job and wants to provide top notch care. I've been seeing Dr. Chansky for the last ~5 months or so on a regular basis for acne and my skin is completely clear now. Couldn't be happier with my results and couldn't recommend him more!!

He confidently identified the root cause of my issues, and provided clear, transparent, and affordable treatment options. Even on a busy day, he took the time to answer all my questions, and provided me with information in writing to reference in the future. It's clear he cares about his patients and goes above and beyond - as I was leaving, I overheard him working with the front desk to fit in a patient with an emergency same day despite his packed schedule. Dr. Chansky in the Castro location is the most unkind, rude, condescending, egotistical doctor I have had the misfortune to encounter in my life. In short he is a bully. He showed me 0 bedside manner, an utter lack of empathy to my situation, made super condescending remarks, and kept getting more and more offended when I would ask questions about my condition, my medication options, and additional treatment options besides the one he was insisting. I told him that I have friends and family who have received milder medication for the same condition, and that I wasn’t comfortable with liver damage as the side effects. He said all other doctors are working with the pharmaceutical companies and that in his “13 years of professional work as a doctor” this is the ONLY option he will give me. He didn’t care about my concern for liver damage. He also wanted to take a sample from my nail and did not explain how he was going to do it, he was just going for it with this large nail clipper tool. I’m used to doctors kindly explaining what they are about to do, or show some care and compassion when I’m uncomfortable. When I expressed my discomfort with the way he was going at my toe with that tool, he got angry. After 10 minutes of dealing with this man, I had tears in my eyes and told him I’m just uncomfortable not knowing how he is going to cut my nail, and maybe he could just explain how he is planning to make the cut. He got up and left the room to give me “air”. He came back within two minutes and said he is going to refund me for the visit and he doesn’t feel comfortable treating me. All of this was a blow to his ego, that’s it. Refunding me was the one kind thing he did. All in all, this doctor created a lot of unnecessary tension, was super unkind and condescending, and became super irritated if I said anything other than agreeing with him. I finally was phrasing my questions with “forgive me for asking” because I felt like I had no other option. His assistant was also standing there completely aloof, and nodding in affirmation at every mean thing that he said. They have a really weird dynamic and it feels like some of the staff there are not comfortable with him either. Toxic vibes, avoid this office.

THE BEST!!!! Dr. Chansky and his staff were incredibly welcoming, and thorough and treated me with great care. From the minute I walked in to his office, until the moment I left, I felt like he and his team listened, understood my needs and delivered exceptional care.

Dr. Chansky is thorough, asks questions, and is a pleasure to talk with. The medical assistant I had (whose name I didn’t quite catch) and the front staff were also top-flight.

Its rare to find a doctor that brings a both a consultative and empathetic approach to their work and that's what I found in Dr. Chansky. I recently visited the office for both cosmetic reasons as well as a regular health check and was impressed by his holistic approach to medicine. Dr. Chansky and his staff were more than just efficient and professional, they were delightful.
