Doctor spend quality time patiently explained to me the pros and cons of egg freezing.
We had a great experience with Dr. Chenette, he is the best! Always listening our concerns patiently. We have a wonderful 2 1/2 year old little girl 💕
One of the only two RE’s that I make appointments with at PFC, very professional and bed side manner that make an uncomfortable situation, comfortable.
Dr. Chenette is a fantastic doctor. As mentioned before, his warm bedside manner is unmatched. He is incredibly knowledgable about his field, and while he is an expert, he is more than able to explain everything to his patients in an understandable manner. I feel so lucky to have worked with him, he is truly the best there is!
When I look back on my experience with PFC and mainly Dr. Chenette, I feel so grateful and amazed by our experience, mainly the level of care, the expertise and the outcome. Being one of Dr. Chenette's first patients in 1991, he gave us a lot of hope, even though we had already been turned down by some of the leading fertility specialists in SF, including "the man" at UCSF, who told us to stop trying and adopt. We had accepted this diagnosis, but after attending a fertility symposium put on by PFC, I was so impressed and had a good feeling that we would be in the right hands, so we persevered with much success. During the pregnancy, some unusual/tough emergency situations arose and Dr. Chenette, was always there for us, regardless of the time of day/night and knew exactly what to do, without hesitation. We were so impressed and extremely grateful!! Our sons are now graduating from college and as I sit finally filling out their baby books, my heart is overflowing with gratitude. I became the President of the SFMOTC and in the three years that I served, I only heard accolades and praise for Dr. Chenette and his staff and no two stories were alike. What an exceptional man and doctor!! I have a funny story to tell. About ten years after the boys were born, I ran into Dr. Chenette at a Giant's Game and I was so excited to see him that when I introduced him to a friend, I said "This is the man that got me pregnant!!" Everyone turned around and looked at us, Dr. Chenette blushed and we all had a great laugh!!
Dr. Chenette and his team are first class. This is THE clinic and THE doctor you want to work with. Dr. Chenette is smart, empathetic, encouraging, knowledgable, caring, and has hands down the best bedside manner out of any doctor I have interacted with in my lifetime. They did a successful round of egg freezing for me and were there with me every step of the way. 5 STARS all the way.
Dr. Chenette has been our RE for the past 3 1/2 years. We havebeen very pleased with PFC but mostly with Dr. Chenette. He has great bedside manner. He's patient and willing to answer all our questions.I loved how I could email him and get a response within 24 hours. I always felt confident we were working with a highly knowledgable doctorwho is very compassionate. I highly recommend him to anyone dealing with infertility!
We achieved our first pregnancy (and child) with Dr. Chenette's help, so I should be giving him 5 stars no matter what. But I have some misgivings. Mostly, I don't feel that he listened to me or trusted that I understood my body. 1. When I first talked to another doctor at the PFC, she said she didn't want her patients to chart their cycles; she didn't want to work with me that way. I was then assigned Dr. Chenette, who, I was told, was amenable to his patients charting. And so he became my doctor. But it wasn't true; he refused to discuss my charting results or listen to any knowledge I had to offer about my body.2. Even though my tests were normal, he still insisted it must be an ovulation problem (I believe that is all they really know how to treat). He therefore pushed me to take Clomid the month of the IUI and to give myself the hCG shot the day before the IUI to ensure ovulation (even though my body functioned like clockwork). I obeyed, and the IUI worked, so I never thought back on it, until we were ready for our second child. With my second pregnancy, I felt less desperate and was more assertive with how I wanted to run the show. I insisted on a natural-cycle IUI (no Clomid, no hCG), and, as I knew it would, it worked. 3. When I came in for an ultrasound for my 2nd pregnancy, it was a Friday. Dr. Chenette said the follicles didn't look big enough and that he was sure I wouldn't ovulate over the weekend, so I wouldn't need the IUI until Monday. I insisted I was going to ovulate on the weekend; I knew my own signs. I was trying to understand their hours and how it worked if you found out you were ovulating on a Sunday--who was in the office and at what time? Dr. Chenette skimmed over my question and told me that if it made me feel better, I could take an Ovulation Predictor Kit test on Saturday morning and if it was negative, I could wait until Monday to come into the office. But I knew better, so I took one test on Saturday morning (negative) and then one again at night (ovulating!). I started calling the office at 6am on Sunday and they told me to waste no time coming in. The IUI I had that morning (administered by Dr. Givens, whom I found infinitely more confident, warm, and nurturing) was successful, and that afternoon I felt my final ovulation cramp--I was done ovulating. Monday would have been too late. So, my ultimate opinion of Dr. Chenette is: use him as a tool, but trust yourself first. I guess I the same is true about most doctors, but once in a while you find a doctor in whose hands you feel completely at ease, and let yourself check out while s/he does all the thinking. IMO, Dr. Chenette is not that doctor. (But the baby we got from the IUI he administered is such an AWESOME kid, I almost gave Chenette 5 stars.)
Dr. Chenette is brilliant and kind. I was actually a patient of another fertility clinic and went to Dr. Chenette for a second opinion. He was sooo helpful. He explained everything to me in the plainest of terms. For the first time I actually had real, tangible answers to my questions. He explained the risks of my situation but balanced it with his best opinion based on his years of experience helping couples fulfill their dreams. We have just started this process but feel absolutely secure that we are in the best possible hands with Dr. Chenette.
Phil Chenette is absolutely fantastic. I have referred 3 friends with fertility problems to Phil and respectively 1 has a 3 year old, another a 2 year old and another due with a baby next week! I feel honored and so happy that I could help in some way to make my girlfriends' dreams come true with 3 pregnancies due to Phil Chenette. If you have a fertility problem, why wouldn't you go to one of the best fertility specialists in the country? That man is Phil Chenette. HE ROCKS!!!!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
