I thought I had done this before and realized now I hadn't, so this review is for years of consistently the highest quality, most reliable, professional, knowledgeable psych in the industry. I can't possibly praise him enough, and I know that's rare these days to have a medical professional you can really trust. He's well versed in both pharmaceutical and holistic alternatives to care, and gives priceless words of wisdom/ advice that stick with me to this day. Throughout the pandemic he's still been reachable and adaptable. SF is lucky to have him. He deserves 10 stars.

I can't believe I haven't written a review yet. Dr. L is very different from my past therapists. He is the only one that has told me that this would be a 50/50 relationship meaning that I have an equal say as him (other doctors don't have this philosophy. He is patient, non-judgmental and his office is just a wonderful place to be. I've also taken his Mindfulness class. He really works from the heart. Also, there have been times that emergencies arose during off hours (like when he was on vacation in another country) where I was able to contact him and he immediately provided the assistance I needed. I don't think this is just a job or career for him, its his purpose in life and I think he knows that. I can say so much more and go on and on. In all, I would not be where I am right now (a good place) without his support.

I recently met Dr. Lauze (pronounced Lah-zay), because I'm seeking a San Francisco psychiatrist to work in tandom with on mood disorder cases (anxiety and depression). Being an alternative provider makes this very difficult, because a lot of Psychiatrists are not particularly interested in meeting me or working with me. First off, Dr. Lauze shares a suite with Naturopaths and Acupuncturists, so that's a good start. I also found out before meeting him that he works both with medication and non-medication approaches: definitely another plus. When we met, Dr. Lauze was a very attentive listener. He had the usual skeptical western med doc approach, but he was open to hearing about my use of Acupuncture, Herbs and Amino Acid Therapy to treat mood. He refers to alternative care practitioners himself, and he understood completely that some people really don't want to go on medication. In our meeting I found out that he not only manages medications, he also practices psychotherapy and uses mindfulness meditation with his patients. In my opinion, he's a great psychiatrist to see when you want a balanced opinion of whether you need medication or if there might be some other method of dealing with whatever you're going through. It's my experience that it's extremely difficult to find a psychiatrist who will take the time to listen (this guy does a 90 minute intake) and who has some tools besides pills to apply to help you. If you're not sure what to do next, but you know you need help---Dr. Lauze is a great doctor to have on your team. I highly recommend him.

I am loosing my faith in Yelp. If a service provider gets enough positive reviews, it bumps her or him up to the top of the line when you do a search, in this case for a psychiatrist. Another thing I find shady, when people, such as in this case, get glowing reviews mostly by people with only one or two other reviews under their belt. Really the only review you are gonna write is for your shrink? Doubtful. Anyhow, I left a voicemail for the doctor on a Monday morning and got no return phone call after waiting five business days. His outgoing message says he generally returns calls in 24 hours. The link to his website was also down. Maybe business is so good, shrinks don't need to return calls? Disappointed...

Dr. Lauze is amazing!! It is not easy to find a psychiatrist who is compassionate, knowledgeable and kind - Dr. Lauze is all of this and more. He is also very quick about responding to phone calls, emails and texts, which makes refill requests a breeze. He also happens to work in the same building as my Naturopath (Dr Seddig) and is very supportive of my work with her.

Dr. Lauze is an attentive and compassionate listener. He asks just the right questions and offers sound bits of advice. He remembers everything I tell him from months past. I always feel respected. His office is a sanctuary and after I have a session, my whole day is enlightened.

Dr Lauzè has been my doctor for more than three years. I came to his practice after seeing with another psychiatrist who, though well intentioned, did not possess the depth of knowledge that Dr. Lauzè has about the most current and effective medication options. Until I began treatment with Dr. Lauzè, I suffered with a number of side effects from taking SSRIs and still felt that my life was covered by a huge gray cloud. Dr. Lauzè completely changed my medications and, I can honestly say, I am grateful to him for patiently working with me. I no longer suffer from sexual side effects or feel drowsy during the day. I feel normal. I can go to work, study for school, and take part in life again. Having the right doctor who has a great deal of practical experience makes a world of difference in your treatment and your life. I trust that Dr. Lauzè is on my side and is willing to work with me to make my life better. I have had a great experience with him as my doctor and would highly recommend him to anyone.

Dr. Lauze is by far the best psychiatrist I have found in the Bay Area. He is on the cutting edge of psychopharmacology but, beyond that, he is caring, intelligent, informative and a great listener. He takes the time to discuss options and alternatives and gives out pertinent handouts. He is available by phone and email (yes!) in a timely manner. I trust him thoroughly, and I mean that as the highest of compliments.

First of all, to judge a credited therapist on his decor is neither here nor there, unless you are some crazy bitchy queen that requires four star treatment like that of some trendy nightclub or other pampered facility. Dr. Lauze is a caring, understanding, and a knowledgeable caregiver (also is kind of hot.... but that's not the point). Rating a psycho therapist is not really even relevant to a Yelp review, as each person should seek out there own report with with someone they feel comfortable receiving medical and emotional support from. I have found DR. Lauze to be understanding and caring of the shit I'm trying to take care of in my life. If you want to be a judge-mental dickhead about weather or not his waiting room is your particular style well... that's your issue..
