Such a blessing to have him around the neighborhood. From frozen shoulder to sciatica, he treated both and no more pain. Now I go twice a month as a regular health maintenance regime.
This man is the most knowledgeable and caring acupuncturist I've had. My headaches usually get to the point of me vomiting but after about an hour with his expert ability in acupuncture, I go home without any pain and sleep pretty well. His english isn't strong but there is usually someone there to assist. He is a kind and empathic person.
I was referred by a good friend of mine to come here. I informed her about my back problems and constant tension on my upper shoulder. After consulting with Dr.Chen about my symptoms, I began my acupuncture treatment. This was my first time and the feeling of the needles hitting the points where I had pain was a little rough but relieving. I eventually knocked out and fell asleep but was awakened to the needles being removed. Somehow the pain had subsided and I felt as if it was removed, call me crazy but I don't feel the pain as much as I did before. I also had some cupping done shortly after, which I have never done before, as well as a massage at the end. Overall I would definitely return for a follow up check up! Dr.Chen also gives you some pills, as he calls Chinese medicine, to take as you heal for the next 3 days. I say give it a try, believe it or not, you can't say you lived if you haven't tried. Especially if you're going through some physical pain.
This review is for Ester who works at the clinic. Perhaps I expected more. This was my first acupuncture experience and I came for toe joint pain. The first experience was fine, although she collected a large (in cash) deposit and then proceeded to charge me more because I had insurance, although I wasn't sure insurance would cover it. She told me this was legal and flipped the sign that had two prices. She also quoted a base price and then added for a lamp, etc. The second time I went, my friend who had recommended her was also there with a family member. Perhaps it was too many at one time but I was left there for a long, sweaty time under the lamp after treatment while she worked on the other two. I went one more time and it was similar to the first time. I followed up to see if my insurance had covered the procedure because it had been several months since they took copies of everything. Then I was told they needed to resubmit and I had to send copies again. I did this and she charged me for submitting the claim! She told me that the insurance gave excuses not to process the claim. She thought I had initially given her about 1/2 of the cash I did and I had to remind her of what had transpired. Finally, she came back and told me that my insurance company had covered the visits for a small amount for each visit. I decided to leave the credit and leave her business rather than hassle with this any longer. Be prepared to be nickeled and dimed.
This man is amazing. If you are looking for a seasoned, effective doctor he is the man to go to. Doesn't speak much English, but there is usually someone there to help translate.
Dr Chen is legit the real deal. He's the sage on the mountain monastery. My family had been coming to him for 20 years. He doesn't speak much English, but someone is usually on hand to translate. If not, all you need to do is let him take your pulse, look at your tongue, and say yes to whatever treatment he gives you, whatever medicine he gives you. AND he even has certification/degree from UC Berkeley; he could teach that entire program. Don't be off-put by the less than clinical setting. None of that has helped you heal, has is it?

Dr. Chen helped my pregnancy successful by giving me acupuncture in my womb area to improve blood circulation more than 10 years ago. I was carrying a fertilized and thawed embryo. Can you believe it when it was my only chance to carry my fresh and blood to be baby at that moment given that I was in my early 40s? It's such a miracle. Thanks Dr. Chen!
Miracles Do Happen and Dr. Chen (Sr. doctor ) can deliver them.... at least when it comes to treatment of Migraine Headaches. I am a living a proof that one can be cured of sever migraine headaches and cluster headaches by acupuncture and herbal medicine. As a migraine sufferer I sought assistance from numerous experts (neurologists, etc.) and tried a wide spectrum of medications, some with very toxic side effects in order to seek relief from sever ongoing Migraine Headaches. I turned to Eastern Medicine, because of the failure of Western medicine, to provide me with any acceptable sense of comfort and onset of clinical depression as the result of ongoing pain and sense of helplessness. I believe, the success of treatments with Dr. Chen, required My total trust to his expertise and dedication to the process, as there was a big language barrier between Dr. Chen and me. The Miracle did not happen over night either, as I had to follow the regimen of treatments and preparation/ consumption of herbal remedies for months. Having been cured of Migraines after 30+ years of suffering, I am happy to report that it was almost five years ago when I last made the stinky herb tea in my kitchen. THANK YOU DR. CHEN for GIVING ME A QUALITY LIFE.
Dr. Chen is a very honest, skilled, and experienced accupuncturist. I totally trust his expertise since he had treated my mom who has arthritis, my daughter whose eczema is well under controlled now, and my son who recently came down with a serious condition named allergic purpura and suffers from serious joint pain, abdominal pain, and body rash. He has gotten so much better since treatment began and is close to complete recovery. He was precribed chinese herbal medicine which works to protect the kidneys from taking too much motrin for abdominal pain and to strengthen overall immunity. Bty, the first time I was referred to dr. chen back in 2002 and he was the first person who found out that I was pregnant, and the great news was confirmed with a blood test afterwards. It was that amazing. I am very lucky to have found this dr and will recommend him to everyone. He shares his office w/ his daughter and son who are also licensed accupuncturists.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
