Robert Dobrow's Online Review Report Card

Dr Dobrow has been my Primary Care Physician for decades.  He is a kind and compassionate human being first and a wonderful and knowledgeable Dr secondly.  He takes his time to be thorough, asks questions and follows up on all requests.  I feel so fortunate to have him guiding me through the ages from my 20s to my 50s.  When you see him, he always has a smile and is genuinely compassionate and skilled at his craft.  His Physician Assistant Kay Kugler is also very knowledgeable and I feel confident in seeing her when Dr Dobrow is unavailable. I couldnt ask for better care.  His office crew is on point as well, kind and excellent at what they do.  He and his team are absolutely the best.

Dr. Dobrow has been my primary for years. What I love most about him is that he is calm and actually spends time with his patients, so you dont feel he is rushing to get out the door. He treats you like you are not just another number. He has a very caring bedside manner, which I appreciate.  Unfortunately, I have to find a new doctor as my new insurance no longer covers him. A very kind man. I will miss him

Has a history of cancelling appointments made weeks in advance medical assistant team lies constantly  about call backs then denies conversations

Dr. Debrow is a nice doctor and great guy, but his assistant, Kay, is incredibly rude and unprofessional, and I will never be going back to that office again because of her, and solely her. Being judgmental and talking loud enough for the entire waiting room to hear, from the doctors room, mind you. All for being 10 minutes late, as this is my second time going there so it took me a second to find things. I will never make an appointment with his assistant, Kay, again in my life and I would advise you save yourself the time and money too. I would never get a check up by someone who cares as little as she does about her job.

Awesome doctor. He has been my primary doctor for 15+ years and just by chance he is also the primary doctor for many of my friends. We all love him. Great demeanor, really listens and does his best to fit you in or respond quickly.

I am sure Dr. Dobrow deserves his good ratings for bedside manner, however he played a negative part in my treatment for cancer. He was my doctor but I hadnt needed to see him often. I went in because I was having quite intense and specific pain in my back. Id visited a chiropractor because of the pain and he told me I needed to see a doctor. When I went in and told Dr. Dobrow Id like to have an Xray because of the specifically located and continuing back pain, he told me that most people have some back pain and didnt refer for the Xray. (I dont recall if he said anything about follow up). Later, after blood testing and an Xray elsewhere, I found out I had a serious blood related cancer. Dr. Dobrow referred me to an oncologist he knew at the hospital. I found him to be a rather strange and unsympathetic doctor, who I found out had seen only one patient with my diagnosis (and he sounded vague about that). I left and went to Dr. Tom Martin at UCSFwho has been wonderful (and life saving). The delay because of all this really worsened my chances with treatment.

I get an hour of full attention from Dr. Dubrow. He is very thoughtful and spaces his appointment accordingly so I dont feel like Im being rushed in and out. I wish he still had his office on Sutter St. but at least the California location has parking options.

The best. Professional and caring. He had seen me, my wife and mother through some rough spots. Dr. Dobrow has the bedside manner we all wish for.

Puts me at ease during stressful times regarding my health. Takes his time and doesnt make me feel like a number, which so many other specialists do for me.
