**This is a 'copy and paste' of the review I wrote for my 'home' office of Walnut Creek. I want to be sure it is seen in each one of Dr. Silkiss' offices. In November of 2019, Dr. Silkiss performed Müllers Muscle Resection surgery to correct my upper eyelids that drooped. I had suffered for years from impairment of my vision, headaches from constantly lifting my forehead to see clearly, difficulty reading, and so many other problems that resulted from pupils that were partially blocked. I found everything about my procedure to be exceptional. Dr. Silkiss was thorough and kind during my initial assessment appointment, explaining my options clearly. On surgery day she checked in with me beforehand and answered my questions patiently. And post surgically, she and her office were easily available to reassure me.Four months later the difference in my sight has been amazing. My optometrist, Dr. Kopiko, recommended Dr. Silkiss. She did not steer me wrong.
I had a real nasty infection near my eye caused by a visit w/t a different Doc. He tried to resolve the issue but could not. Dr. Silkiss got the job done, prescribed the correct remedy & the right meds & her Fees was reasonable. She’s also gentle and exact. Dr. Silkiss is a real professional and she conducts herself that way as opposed to some docs I’ve visited who wanted to be my BFF & sell me procedures. I’ve recommended her to my family, so yes, I hold her in high regard. She’s now my “face & Eye” Doctor for life.
Quite obvious, Dr. Silkiss is a very skilled and dedicated surgeon. I like her “get right to the point” attitude. If you have questions, she answers; no nonsense! Dr. Silkiss asked my husband if he had any questions; then she gave him his post surgery orders: Buy 1 dozen peach colored roses, very soothing & therapeutic! Dr. Silkiss, I think he forgot! Too caught up in his nursing duties!!
she came in late and barely wanted to speak. i had to initiate the conversation! wow. I think she's prejudice. She immediately made her mind up about me in a few minutes. Either she don't like Blacks (females) or she's anti-medicare. I was only in the app. with her more than 5 minutes. She took a tool to measure my eye socket and I screamed. It was the hardest I've ever felt before. My eye has been worse every since. I regret ever meeting her period.
I am so grateful to Dr Silkiss ... many months after my successful surgery with her, I was vacationing in Puerto Rico. On the last night of my stay, I took a fall - missing a step in a step down dining room of a family member. My eye lid was gashed from my eye glasses when I fell. It was a Sunday evening. It was a holiday weekend (Memorial day). My flight home was scheduled for 10 hours later. I had to decide whether to go to ER in San Juan and reschedule my flight for two days later (only available flight). I phoned Dr Silkiss office - delighted that there was a cell phone for her offered at the end of the message. I called. She answered ... on a Sunday Holiday ... from a former patient. She had me send her a photo of the injured eye. We spoke and texted. She advised my options including a colleague I could contact in San Juan if I decided to stay. She was calm and clear in the options she offered me. She was reassuring that I could continue on my flight home and she would see me in her office the next morning if I wished. She reassured me that she could do stitches, if necessary, even after the 24 hour window that others said I couldn't do. She had a wonderful, clear, calm manner with me... whether she actually remembered me or not ... On her advice I was able to have my partner clean up the wound and apply liquid bandage and a butterfly so I could get home asap .. ore than 114 hour trip. She saw me the next morning as offered. My eye is doing well and I am very appreciative that there is such a nice and caring and accessible human being in this very competent, efficient, and busy doctor. thank you Dr Silkiss!

Took our 2 year old in to evaluate her eyelid.Dr. Silkiss told her not to scream because her ears hurt? (She was 2!)When it came time to evaluate, she didn't even come close to my daughter, she looked from her chair and said almost indifferently "I don't see anything in her eye." We paid $200 for the visit, didn't even get checked, and baby's eye still in pain.Dr. Silkiss, an ophthalmologist saw her a few days later and removed an eye lash growing inwardly. You should have seen that! Heartless!!
In September 2016 I was diagnosed with Graves Disease. In early 2017, I began to see inflammation around the eyes and was referred to Dr. Silkiss by my endocrinologist. Since then, Dr, Silkiss has proven to be an exceptional physician and one that I am incredibly grateful for. I say this for two reasons: First, and for me most importantly, she is a leading subject area expert when it comes to thyroid eye disease. She is both active in research and extremely knowledgeable on the most recent clinical studies and experimental trends. Secondly, Dr. Silkiss takes the time to explain the research and the reasons for the medical treatment strategy we are adopting. She has even met with my wife to discuss my condition and offer any support she can. Lastly, she is always available to chat and was in constant contact with me on my most recent trip to Europe. There is not much more one can ask for in a physician.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
