Sarah Dobro's Online Review Report Card

After much intentional research for a competent genderaffirming provider in the City, my health plan led me to Dr. Dobro.  I  decided to sign up for OneMedical after reading a featured article of her trans care interests. I had so many high hopes in building a trusting, longlasting, safe, and affirming relationship with a new PCP.Dr. Dobro is far from approachable or personable, as other reviews have noted. The two consults I had with her were straightforward, insincere, rushed, and scripted. I did not feel leaving consults like wow, finally a PCP whom I can trust.. having experienced many forms of transphobia, discrimination, and barriers to care issues as a trans person. In my last medical consult, I shared my concerns with my recent weight gain because of the work stressors due to COVID and as an essential healthcare worker.  Our conversation and her advice went directly  to When was the last time you weighed yourself?... And can you commit to getting a weight scale by our next visit?  Just wow It takes a couple of seconds to express empathy or to acknowledge ones humanity and struggles during the worlds worst pandemic of the century.  Provider words and actions have longlasting impacts on patients, especially for trans and nonbinary people.  Language matters and I couldnt tell whether to feel offended, angry, or devoid of humanity.I am sure she is knowledgeable healthcare professional.  Im just not sure you will get sincerity, authenticity, rapport or empathy if those values are what matters to you in accessing healthcare.I do commend OneMedical for following up on my concern.  They admin staff was responsive and provided support for finding another provider.

Sarah is one of the best providers that I have had in years, she really cares and is concerned about her patients. She truly listens, offers feedback and follows up. I feel comfortable talking to her and asking questions, as she is not judgmental and has answers. I highly recommend Sarah to anyone that is seeking a great doctor in San Francisco.

My previous provider at One Medical retired, and I was recommend Sarah.  While her communication style is too direct for my taste, I was most dissatisfied by her medical knowledge.  Living with an immune disorder, I was surprised by her lack of sincerity and appropriate advice on how to navigate the life during COVID safely.

Sarah is probably who you would think of if you had to describe the perfect doctor that must work within the constraints of time. She is my primary care physician at One Medical.Ive gone to her for a range of ailments and she has consistently and efficiently been able to provide care and information, or the referrals and resources for it if she is not able to provide it to you directly there.She is approachable and attentively listens and discusses concerns with you in a warm manner, yet stoically lulls you towards the path that she feels is important that you understand. She seems to work under a guidance of genuine concern and medical ethics. This also carries over to her quick responses through the online messaging system.I thought she has also carried herself graciously and professionally to interact constructively even in a group setting where certain members may be a little hostile.I hope to come back to this review 70 years later and see that I am still kicking thanks to exemplary care by Sarah.

Dr. Dobro was awesome! She is knowledgeable with working with the lgb and tgnc community and genuinely cares about her patients. I love that she has experience with patients needing complex care and has resources in her pockets for them. Shes not just a get in get out kind of doctor, but is interested in following my care closely by requesting me to come back for frequent follow ups. We need more doctors like her to fix this broken medical system!

Sarah is my superhero. After years of being passed around at Kaiser and never having my health issues truly addressed, I finally found One Medical and Sarah. She listens, offers feedback and makes a clear game plan. She has great communication and after I leave my appointment I feel like I have her support. I have never had a provider be as proactive about my health as she has.

Sarah is an excellent MD, I saw her for my initial visit. She listens, she takes notes and is pleasant and informative. Sarah gave me solid measures to take to improve my health. It is refreshing to see a young and wellinformed MD that cares deeply about her patients. I recommend Sarah as a primary care physician, and as a bonus, she is gay friendly.
