Everyone here was super nice, very professional and helpful. I had Mohs surgery and they carefully explained everything along the way and were very attentive to my needs. My visit couldn't have gone any better. Dr. Neuhaus was great. Highly recommended!

The University of California should be ashamed they don't have a functioning portal where you can pay your bill by credit / debit card. Evidently their portal got "hacked" and it's been like that for a while. SAD.

If you don't mind never seeing or speaking to your doctor, this is your sort of place. They have forgotten the patient and stopped believing in providing the best

Rony Francois seems to assume I'm an idiot that doesn't know my own issues. I've been to 3 local dermatologists and due to not being able to visually identify the primary issue prior to a major surgery, I got referred to UCSF for a proper diagnoses with medical equipment. He spent 26 minutes total on me and my information, and misdiagnosed numerous issues as well as disregarded my only visually active breakout as completely normal. its been weeks since the appointment and I've ben attempting to contact him over MyChart. I said attempting, because he literally left a note to staff to ignore my texts or calls without another appointment, but after calling to make an appointment he still refused to communicate properly. In the little contact I do manage to make, he STILL continues to disregard my only visual breakout from the appointment. I also supplied photo evidence of another breakout, and the reason behind it, and he reluctantly agreed that its a minor form of what I was describing, and that leaving it alone will fix it. Which is completely wrong, as I told him what causes it every single time, but for some reason he acts as if I have no idea what I'm talking about and that its a simple problem. Currently, he's ignoring my test results as he doesn't want to open the opportunity for me to respond again. He also is ignoring my request for a second opinion or a referral to a local board certified derm. I am now rescheduling my major surgery simply because I will die if get it in my current condition, and yet he feels like he, with his numerous wrong diagnoses' and childish behavior, can clear me for surgery. He literally shouldn't be employed at any medical facility.

AVOID. I have skin sensitivities, but no serious medical condition. I was referred to Dr Haemel. I was not informed that she is not a dermatologist but an internist. After 5 years of seeing her periodically, it is my conclusion that (1) she lacks the skills to make a clinical judgment; and (2) she is motivated by generating revenue without regard to the patient. She has never made a proper diagnosis (Finally got one else where) and has ordered numerous unnecessary tests and off label lotions pretending to be looking for something that mainly requires clinical evaluation. I out up with over a period of time, but the last test she ordered was soooo inconvenient, soooo unnecessary, and turned up nothing, that it confirmed all of my negative suspicions of her. Avoid her, and avoid this department if you can. It is a poorly managed department that puts profits above patients.

Dr Yu is a phenomenal surgeon. She performed a complex surgery, post-Moh's procedure, to provide the best cosmetic result for my face (forehead to eye). She maintained symmetry and I'm very grateful for her expert knowledge and skill. Furthermore, the entire team is extremely supportive and professional. UCSF Dermatology exceeds expectations with their top-notch quality and best patient care.

Honestly, go anywhere else. I went here to get some spots checked out. The dermatologist arrived nearly an hour late. She recommended I have a mole removed from my back and two spots removed from my nose because of my fair skin and family history. However, the nose spots were coded as "cosmetic" so my insurance didn't cover it. Never, not once, did somebody say this was cosmetic. Such a scam.

Is UCSF this effed up, across the board? From Yelp reviews of their various departments, it looks like it. Had a dermatology surgery on my face and the next day felt AWFUL, like my head was going to explode or something. So I call the "follow up" phone number on my discharge papers and left a message. A couple hours later, I left another message. And a couple hours after that, I left yet another message. I was considering going to urgent care near my house but had one last idea. I remembered they had a "patient portal" thing, so I created and account and started emailing them. Around 4pm I got a response to my email from a nurse who explained "they'd been busy all day." Further, she told me the doctor who did my surgery was sorry I wasn't feeling well and offered me "narcotics." Literally. I said no thanks. I filled out a patient evaluation explaining all this. Never heard back.

There billing error, I have HMO as primary insurance and PA approved, UCSF billed under my 2nd insurance with high copay, is a mess. Also, the doctors there not that good, I got called from different staffs, intern or nurse told me different things, I went there 2x, the doctor told me will do a procedure but when I came 2nd time no procedure instead just talked. Wasted money and time. They also charged big $$$, maybe the only thing they care about is $.

Like just about everyone else who has left a review for this clinic, my wife had a terrible experience here. She had two appointments in March and in May, but UCSF did not even submit an insurance claim until August. Had she known how much UCSF would overcharge compared to her local dermatologist, she would never have come back a second time. Cigna confirmed that the doctor charges by the minute so when she talked to my wife about my wife's job, the doctor was billing her time for that. If you go here, you run the risk of getting a huge bill 6 months later.
