Beautiful Assisted Living and the staff is great! Across the street from the golf course and so peaceful. The employees are so caring and very well educated to work with the Residents. They have tea time and soft music and patience. The caregivers treat the Residents as if it was their own family members.
While searching for an assisted living facility for a relative, I came across Golden Road Assisted Living via Yelp, and gave them a call. I spoke to Mauricio (sp?) who spent a lot of time with me on the phone - going over options, explaining the differences between different types of facilities, listening to the particulars surrounding our relative's condition, letting us know what to watch out for in general. Golden Road is bit above our relative's budget but I really appreciated Mauricio's professionalism, candidness, and especially the time he took to share his knowledge with us -- even after knowing that we would be seeking something less expensive than Golden Road. Thank you so much Mauricio!
When I found the Golden Oaks assisted living in July 2020 I thought I had found a needle in a hay stack. At the time very few places were accepting new residents as COVID was raging across the country. I had a long conversation on the phone with the owner Ana about my mothers Dementia and she seemed to completely understand my situation. I injured about the other 2 residents who I was told were still communicative. I asked if they played games and engaged in activities and she assured me they did. Most importantly if I would be able to visit w/my mother, which she told me would not be a problem. My mother was still communicative and mobile w/a walker. I was returning to work and would be tested several times a week otherwise I would not have visited with my mom. We went to look at the Ana & Mauricio's home which is located in a quiet neighborhood, the home was clean, the backyard beautiful, care givers friendly and most importantly everyone spoke Spanish which was my mothers first language and becoming her preferred language as dementia took hold. My mom moved in and for a few weeks all seemed fine. I would visit with my mom 1 or 2 times a week and she was always clean , well fed but completely bored. No games played, no walks in the neighborhood and the other residents were actually not conversational. All they was park everyone in front of the television and hope they'd fall asleep. Then the first caregiver tested positive for COVID, luckily no one else in the house tested positive and the caregiver was sent home for quarantine for 2 weeks. I asked for everyone to be tested every 7 days as that frightened me. Sadly it did not happen. In December as more staff and Mauricio tested positive, I started to look to return her to the Fair Oaks where she lived pre -covid where she had more room to walk and caregivers would spend time with residents to help them pass the time. It seemed to me Ana had grown annoyed with my mother and had started to play cruel games every time we returned from our weekly Ice Cream dates, telling her she had missed dinner and she'd have to go to bed w/out dinner, the last time she said that to my mother in an indirect manner I let her know I did not find this on going joke amusing. My mother has been on Hospice care and Ana convinced me to cancel hospice as my mother was much better and we would run out of Hospice funds for when she really needed the care. I will regret this decision for the rest of my life. A month after I stopped Hospice my mother passed away from Covid. Mauricio has assured my Ana was practically a nurse and I should not worry. When my mother was taken to the hospital after being diagnosed with covid the doctors asked why it took us so long to bring her in? She had been sick for weeks and had pneumonia. I called and texted daily as I was unable to go to the house as COVID was present the last month of my mothers life. I was told she had no fever and showed no symptoms, when I spoke to her I could here a small cough which Ana told me was a cold from being outside in the cold. As it turned out when my mother arrived at the hospital she was very ill and they could not save her, she died 12 hours after being admitted. If your loved one is still communicative and mobile please do not leave them at the Golden Road. My heart will forever be broken at the loss of my mother. No one should ever have to feel the pain I suffer daily.
Truly a Gem located in a tranquil N. San Gabriel neighborhood. Family operated assisted living home that has a homey atmosphere and provides excellent care. A MUST have on your list to visit!
The family of Golden Road Assisted Living has taken care of my mother for the past 3.5 years. I never imagined that such a loving place was possible. It's a beautiful, immaculate home in a charming neighborhood. Everyone at Golden Road interacts with the residents with dignity and respect, no matter their condition. The residents are always clean and attended to with such love and care. And the food? Home-cooked meals with plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables. My mother's well-being and health improved dramatically after she moved into Golden Road. Such piece of mind for our entire family.
We were so lucky to find this home. Ana and her team take such attentive care of my mother. The home is beautiful; the setting is spectacular. The place is spotless. The food is always a treat -- tasty and fresh. My family and I can't speak highly enough of our mother's life at Golden Road. It's not a "facility" it's a home.
Ana prepares delicious healthy meals. They meet all your needs. It's a wonderful place.
This place is amazing . Great service for the clients , great staff, food and best of all great owners.
Very helpful and was able to provide us direction on helping our grandmother with Alzheimer's. First place to give us answers and take the weight off our shoulders. Highly recommend if you're unsure of how to help an elderly family member, and need a reliable source of information.
I just spoke with Mauricio, searching for info on assisted living, nursing homes. He was so nice, helping me understand what kind of facility my family member may need. I would definitely call him if and when our family's needs change. Thank you Mauricio I appreciate it

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
