List of Bilal Shafi's Reviews
I literally owe my life to this man. He replaces my aortic valve and did a double bypass. I should’ve done this review earlier but better late than never. Thank you Dr. Shafi! Would not be here today if you hadn’t fixed me.??
Excellent Doctor. Very efficient and skilled.
Dr.Shafi is very competent professional and a compassionate human being. He is in very high demad and that makes it difficult for him to spend time with patient. Yet he makes sure that he fulfills his commitments. My hats off and regards for this sincere professinal
1 yr ago at Good Samaritan Hospital, Dr. Shafi did mitral valve repair for my acute mitral valve issue. The surgery was very successful. His team was caring, professional and very experienced in this type of surgery. My mitral valve was repaired and heart restarted. I have fully recovered and been back to work full time for 6 months. At 1 year anniversary of new life, I want to thank Dr. Shafi and his team for saving my life. I became a better human being with a healthy heart.
Dr Shafi is a great doctor and I would definitely recommend him to all. He is very prompt and sympathetic. My step grandma had chronic heart failure. She had an 80% mortality rate he performed a very complex operation and she fully recovered.

Dr Shafi performed a TAVR procedure on my mother. She had been in a few weeks before and barely made it thru the procedure to check her valves. He pushed hard to get her to do surgery. She went Code Blue nurses brought her back, they finally figured out her heart wasn't beating, it was the pace maker. So she had went without heart beating for who knows how long. He called Code Blue and they did everything they could and keep her in medical CPR. Which of course fried her brain and killed off her liver. We removed ventilator and she took 3 days to pass on. She had a DNR in place and was not honored. Never heard from him.
Dr Shafi performed a aortic root graft 2 1/2 years ago. He saved my life. Others I know and have talked to have nothing but praise for him. Thank you Dr, Shafi.
Dr. Shafi who consulted with my mom, in a non emergency setting, informed her she would need heart surgery, a 3% mortality rate. Two weeks later she had her surgery and on her fourth day of recovery, died. The decline was from day one. No real answers, not sure where the ball dropped, with the Dr. or the icu staff, but I wish I'd done my homework before my mom had this surgery. The staff didn't show a great amount of compassion at Dominican Icu. I really question the competence of the staff. I felt like there was no real fight for her life, the attitude was, we win some, we lose some. She died without dignity, they treated her awful. However, 2 was later we did talk with Shafi who answered our questions and did show sympathy. Hard to say where the blame lies...but I'm very upset..
Dr. Shafi and his team provided skilled, conscientious and compassionate care during my husband's recent heart surgery. We feel very fortunate to have him here in our county and would recommend him highly.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
