Ellis Eye & Laser Medical Center's Online Review Report Card

I had Epi-lasik done years ago and now my eyes are starting to go bad again. Fortunately, I was promised that all future surgeries were covered. Sounds amazing if they would actually call or email back. I feel they are going to try and weasel their way out somehow judging by the reviews here. I had to pretend to be a new patient requesting more info for anyone to respond. Of course, then the sales rep reaches out and tells me the office will call. Still crickets.... I will escalate this through the proper channels.

I had lasik done over twenty years ago by Dr.Ellis. All these years later, I remember how professional and kind Dr Ellis and his staff treated me. What prompted me to write this review was a friend's telling me of the "money mill" treatment they had received at another clinic. From my first appointment to my final post surgery check up, the staff was clearly communicating to me all risks and the seriousness of the surgery and the care I had to take, money had nothing to do with it.The reason I had chosen Dr. Ellis at the time was because he was the most experienced LASIK surgeon in the area at the time of my surgery. I was pleasantly surprised to find out he was not a surgery mill, but a Dr. who truly cared for me as his patient. I had also chosen to go to his San Jose office, I live in the valley. I don't know if they still do it, but his staff made sure I had a reservation at a nearby hotel and a ride to get there. They called to be sure I got checked in ( post surgery) and later they called to see if I was experiencing any unusual discomfort.Next day I had that "I can see my alarm clock" moment and my vision was 20/20 . That was 20 years ago and now I am a Senior Citizen. The lasik deteriorated due to age and due to astigmatism I can't have a touch up ! or at least that is what Dr Ellis said 20 years ago, maybe things have changed? . I think I should give his office a call....I recommend Dr Ellis 100%. PS I saw another reviewer claimed all the good reviews were paid for by the Dr: that is a lie. I was never ever asked to write this review nor was I paid to do so. My interaction with Dr Ellis and his staff was one procedure 20+ years ago - it was a phenomenal experience .

Honestly this place is amazing! Before I got eye surgery, they made sure I was a good candidate. They gave me good advice on how to be ready before and after the surgery. They treat you like family here. After my surgery they called me to make sure I was doing well and if everything went well. When I had questions or concerns they were always there to answer them. They don't make you wait a long time either. As of now, my vision is great! Everytime I come to every appointment, I always leave with a smile on my face. I honestly trust this place. My mother was the first one to get eye surgery about 12 years ago and my brother about 6 years ago with the same doctor. As of today, they both still have perfect vision.

Glad I chose Dr Ellis office for lasik Surgery. I was super satisfied with results and was surprised that I started seeing 20/20 the next day of recovery. I highly recommend to others. I want to thank Dr Ellis for a very smooth and professional job and also to Marleny And staff for being very friendly and helpful!

Office didn't seem as clean as others I had visited, equipment didn't smell like it had been wiped before being used and I didn't see anyone clean anything with alcohol swabs. Also, treatment coordinator seemed to gloss over important information, didn't really give me a warm and fuzzy feeling. Looking through brochures, looks like their equipment is on older side too. Glad I passed on this place. Ended up going to Laser Vision Institute in San Bruno. On positive note, they were proactive in seeking out this review!

My laser eye surgery experience has been incredible and the staff is very friendly and great! I would highly recommend them!
