List of Jeffrey Kaplan's Reviews
Amazing and knowledgeable Doctor. Straight to the point. He doesn't sugarcoat anything. Which is hard to find in doctors. I want the facts and not a run around. Highly recommend for Vascular Surgery and General Surgery.
Very knowledgeable Dr., I had Carotid Artery that was 95% blocked, a major surgery and I was very concerned about going through it. I'm alive and well, recovering. Huge thanks to Dr. Kaplan. Outstanding work.
Last year I had two surgeries by Dr Kaplan to create a Fistula. The first one when I was on the table the IV failed to work, so no antiesthetic and I was awake, so he proceeded with a Local. I didn't mind because my arm was numb and if I said I felt that a little, i'd hear "lidocaine" he'd inject the site and continue. It was an interesting experience, chattering and laughing with him during the surgery and not a problem for me at all. Some staff commented on his manner "he never smiles", but I liked him. Then there was the second surgery. This time the IV was in, I'd feel myself drifting away, but then I started feeling the surgery and I was wide awake and complaining. He'd order more Fentanyl, again i'd start to drift, and again he'd proceed cutting and the pain was getting worse. I was wide awake complaining again. He said "I've given you enough Fentanyl to knock out a linebacker" and ordered the nurse to give me more. Again it didn't work and I laid on the table crying and crying out in pain as he asked for a "shaver" and I felt my flesh being shaved. I knew I dare not move my arm, but every other part of me was writhing in pain and he continued without one little thing... Lidocaine. He doesn't use an anesthesiologist, he kept pushing the Fentanyl which wasn't working, never once did I hear him order lidocaine like in the first surgery. All he had to do was numb it and I don't know why he didn't. In recovery he was very abrupt, treated me like i'd done something wrong. He should be ashamed. I never went back for my follow-up appointment, I refuse to let him near me again. I've never understood how he could have done that to me when a simple injection of Lidocaine would have fixed it. Dr Kaplan tortured me. A few months later I had to have surgery on my ear, that Dr used an anesthesiologist and I didn't wake up during surgery.
I had deep wounds from a MRSA infection and had been out of work for 10 months and was starting to lose function in my hands. I had been to several doctors and wound care clinics that did not fix the problem and charged my insurance hundreds of thousands of dollars to essentially do nothing. I was recommended to see Dr. Kaplan for Hyperbaric Oxygen therapy but I ended up going to him for my wound care. In a short period of time with his regiment of wound care and HBO therapy I have my infection under control and wounds in much better condition. The man is a consummate professional, extremely knowledgeable, treated me like a family member, and I thank god that i ended up in his care. I would highly recommended him to anybody that needs wound care.
Lifesaver!!!! We took my grandma to two different hospitals for an internal leg wound that kept growing bigger and bigger down to the tendon no help from Kaiser just a bandage from the doctor. Then we took her to the wound clinic where Dr. Kaplan gave my grandma an ultrasound and got to the root of the problem. He is an expert in his field along with the assistants. Very professional and serious. Her wound was down to the bone. I was so frightened she was possibly on the verge of leg amputation. But in Dr. Kaplans care and his assistants things got really better and she actually healed the wound closed up and she still was able to keep her leg. Our family is very grateful for his expertise. We will never forget you and will recommend all people with wounds to your clinic or wound care center at Good Samaritan. Thanks again!!!
I found this doctor to have a condescending demeanor, he did not come across as listening to his patient or wanting to help, he refused to work with my insurance company (one of the large, standard ones), and he sent very high bills for uneffective procedures. I should have changed doctors right away.
I met Dr. Kaplan through the Stanford Health Care Advantage (Part C-Medicare) Plan on a referral from my Primary Physician to the Good Samaritan Hospital-Mission Oaks Facility Wound Care Center-Los Gatos. Dr. Kaplan is approved by Stanford Health Care Advantage as a Vascular Surgeon Specialist had a leg wound between my knee and my ankle that would not heal using my methods. From my first appointment, I was very pleased that Dr. Kaplan is a Vascular Surgeon and is highly trained in venous problems. Dr. Kaplan listens to his patients, follows the principle of a no pain treatment expereince, uses diagnostic tools such as ultrasound tests to scope circulation only when necessary. After four visits so far to the Wound Center and under Dr. Kaplan physician orders, my leg is quickly healing back to normal. If you have a wound that will not heal, contact Dr. Kaplan. The staff and facilities at the Wound Care Center at Good Samaritan-Mission Oaks Facility-Los Gatos are excellent and deliver the best in patient care!!
Dr. Kaplan--professional, inspiring confidence, amicable--has been my cardiologist for more years than I can remember. My experience over those years has proved him to be consistently interested in and concerned about all aspects of my cardiovascular condition, capable of providing for my care, and taking the necessary time to explain to me all that I need or want to know. When medications could no longer control my life-threatening heart condition, Dr. Kaplan referred me to a cardiac electrophysiologist for a pacemaker--which, with new medications applicable to this change in my condition, has controlled my cardiac aberrations ever since. The nurses in his office are prompt to consult him and respond when I telephone for answers, and the staff are prompt to see that the nurses are informed of my calls. So impressed have my wife and I been with Dr. Kaplan's care of me that she has recently chosen him as her cardiologist also. Incidentally, for some reason I cannot access "The wait time at the office was about: -Select-" but I can say that I do not remember ever having had to wait long to be admitted into an examination room and promptly attended to.
I have been very impressed with Dr. Kaplan. He is extremely thorough and efficient. I now only see him annually, and that's a positive thing.
Dr. Kaplan gives off the opinion that he doesn't really have time to listen to your concerns. The visit is usually quick and not very helpful.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
