I call him Dr. Botchra. He messed up my first cataract surgery by putting the wrong lens in the back of my eye. The first surgery didn't hurt, but then he had to go back in one week later to replace the lens, and after that it hurt quite badly. Then he tried to charge me thousands for the second surgery that was his fault in the first place. I would never go to him again. His office kept saying they would reverse the charge, then I would get another bill. Finally I threatened legal action and the bills stopped. Please don't go to Dr. Botchra if you value your eyesite

I’ve been going to dr. Batra for years. I’ve had nothing but professionalism and great service every time I’ve gone. my mothers been going there for years she’s got a cataract surgery everything’s always great ! I have no problem giving him a high recommendation to anyone I know

I took my 18-year-old daughter to Dr. Batra to confirm her previous keratoconus diagnosis, and to evaluate her for collagen cross-linking. The staff was extremely friendly and competent, from Danette, who handled the pre-authorization from our medical health insurance provider (which took six months, but we knew it would), to Brianne, who patiently explained the procedure to my daughter beforehand and stayed with us during the entire procedure, to Dr. Batra, who expertly explained and treated her condition. The procedure itself was painless and although my daughter was pretty nervous, he and Brianne did everything to put her at ease. She was fine the day after the procedure.The previous ophthalmologist we had seen and two more I inquired with did not take insurance and charged $8,000 for cross-linking. Dr. Batra accepted our insurance, and the treatment ended up costing $20 (our insurance co-pay), including the procedure itself and three follow-ups. Having participated in the clinical trials for this newly approved treatment, we had complete confidence in him. My daughter will have to return for follow-ups in a few months to see whether the treatment has successfully treated her keratonocus, but for now, I am extremely happy with the results and very grateful to Dr. Batra and his staff.

Dr. Batra is very friendly and caring. He listens to my concerns and answers my questions. He gives good advice. Sometimes, there is a long wait in the office to see him as he is very popular.

He is a great eye doctor.🌙

I felt scammed! Below is an email I sent Dr. BatraBatra Vision15051 Hesperian Blvd Suite ASan Leandro, CA 94578Aug. 29, 2017 1st appointmentSeveral different people tested my vision with machines in several rooms.Dr. Batral told me about 3 surgery options:1. no out of pocket cost, correct cataracts only.2. $1,800.00 each eye to correct cataracts & vision & correct stigmatism in both eyes. But will still require reading glasses.3. $2,400.00 each eye. I'm unsure of this options amount. To correct cataracts & vision & correct stigmatism in both eyes. Will NO LONGER require reading glasses.I selected option #2 for $1,800.00 each eye and was offered a discount if paid cash.Aug. 30, 2017 return for measurements.Moved thru several rooms and looked intomachines till operator was satisfied..Was ushered to business office where I was told the price for my surgery is $4,800.00.I said "NO", and was shocked, I was told,"wait, I'll talk to the doctor".. On her return she said "$2,000.00 each eye", though still in shock, I then asks the amount of discount for paying cash and was told, "with this low price there is no discount!"Upon discussions with Mrs. Howard, I realized I had just been to victim of Bait & Switch. I have been a patient of Dr Batra for 15 yrs. When it came time for cataract surgery I ran into problems with my insurance company covering my procedure. Dr Batra's office was very helpful and worked with the insurance company and we finally got my procedure covered. He did excellent work as usual and I am very happy with my vision. I wouldn't trust my eye care to anyone else!Dan R.

i suffered from cataracts and put this surgery off for 5 years - when i finally got up the nerve i called Dr Batras' office and that week i was in there and one week later he did my first eye then the following week he did my 2nd eye. His support and bedside manner was the best as i was so scared that i almost ran out of the bldg after the first meeting - After all these are my eyes and can't be replaced. A good friend of mine worked for him years ago and STONGLY recommended him and told me he was THE BEST around and that i would be in GREAT hands - all i was told was true - he was so nice and supportive and i give him 5 stars!

But only of the Doctor himself. And after reading a few of the other reviews, I believe I am justified in concurring with them.Last week or so I fixed an appointment over the phone, asking for a check up of my eyes to see if I need to change the power of my glass lenses . The lady fixed an appointment for me with an Ophthalmologist which I kept two days back.On reaching the reception, I was asked for a $15 co-pay. I informed the lady that I was here only to check my eyes to see if I need to change the lenses of my glasses.I was told that my appointment was with an Ophthalmologist and not an Optometrist and the co-pay is $15 and not $10. So I requested the cancellation of the appointment with the Ophthalmo and asked to see the Optometrist. I was informed that the optometrist is not available; I found this hard to believe; how do they sell frames without an optometrist?So I thanked the lady and walked out.On wednesday the 24th, I called again and fixed an appointment to see the OPTOMETRIST.This was fixed for 2PM today. and the conversation at the reception was harassing if I may say:Me: I have an appointment for 2pm.Lady:yr name?Me: Kumar Kripalanilady ; Is Kumar your last name:Me: no, it's my first name.(all this was unnecessary, as I had already given her my insurance card, and informed her that I was covered by VSP.Lady: It shows your wife is covered by VSPMe: We are both coveredLady; The Optometrist is not available today and the next appointment available for the 9th of MarchI picked up my insurance card, thanked her and told her that people will hear about this.So, Dr Batra is an excellent eye surgeon, but the admin is found totally wanting.What do you guys think, should I actually go back there??
