List of Daniel Zovich's Reviews
My esophagus was closing and I could barely swallows water. I went to Dan Zovich to see if anything could be done and he was so kind, explained everything so well, and though it took two times to have a treatment because my esophagus was so closed, he stretched it open and saved my life. He is an amazing doctor and a fine man. If you need a gastro, Dan is your man.
I was scheduled for a colonoscopy and endoscopy at French hospital for abdominal issues I've been having. I also was going to have a stricture dilated in my esophagus (which this doctor told me I had 8 years ago). Right before I was medicated for the procedure he asked me if I had any questions. When I asked if there were any risks to the dilation he exploded!! Became very angry, almost yelling out all the possible extreme risks. I was in shock and so were the other nurses surrounding me. I felt like leaving but I had already gone through the terrible prep, had an IV and been admitted as an outpatient. He said "do you not want me to do it?". I said only if it's necessary. Then I was medicated and don't remember any more. I never heard from him after that, he did not do the dilation. No apology or explanation. I have transferred doctors. I have now heard from multiple nurses and a doctor that he is moody. There is no excuse for that behavior. How can you feel comfortable going under anesthesia when the Dr cannot control his behavior and is visibly angry? The office staff were very nice
Dr. Zovich is a wonderful Dr. who takes his patients concerns very seriously. Any person would be lucky to be a patient of Dr. Zovich's.
He was dismissive and uninterested in doing anything. He treated me as though I was wasting his time and he couldn't be bothered. He seemed "checked out," irritated I was even there, cold, and arrogant. This was after I explained years worth of distressing GI issues. When I questioned him further and asked if these symptoms were normal, all he said is "lots of people have those symptoms." The symptoms are not normal, and can indicate a number of serious underlying problems that need to be tested and assessed before jumping to such a shallow conclusion. Yet he was 100% uninterested in investigating further, and all he seemed to want to do was broom me out the door as fast as possible. The final straw was when he made an offensive, discriminatory assumption that I am doped up on pain meds, when in fact I take ZERO pain meds. Sorry, but something is wrong here and I'm wondering if the care is negligent.
Dr Zovich is always patient and listens to his patients. He’s very thorough! Renee is also the best!
Very professional organization. Friendly and courteous staff.
Dr Zovich is a truly confident professional who was willing to listen to what was bothering me His staff was very friendly and helpful as well...
I would not recommend him. His bedside manner is arrogant and he has a way of belittling his patient. He made us come for a visit to renew a prescription and acted like WE were wasting his time. When stated pain in abdomen he felt and said everything is fine. If everything was fine would not have even mentioned the pain. He did not even seem to be "attending" the appt. but in a real hurry to push us along. Will not be coming back.
Dr.Zovich is the best. The staff is the best too.
I honestly believe that Dr Zovich is the very best gastroenterologist in San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara counties. He’s been my specialist since 1994. He does a thorough job of explaining exactly what is going on with my colon and how I can improve my overall digestive health. I had a colonoscopy done at Cottage Hospital once and was very disappointed with the attending physician. No one but Dr Zovich will do for me.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
