I feel like I have to say, based on my interactions with him, if you are diagnosed with prostate cancer, he doesn't have the experience or resources to deal with it or offer appropriate treatment options. In that case, I would recommend looking at another facility such as a university (e.g. UCLA) with state of the art care.

This doctor told my dad active surveillance for a year would suffice. Different surgeon discovered the cancer spread out of his gland during the procedure to remove said gland. Now he has to do radiation. Thanks, Dr. Avallone. A note to the doctor - please remember you are dealing with lives. Maybe be more cautious. This is my best friend that I have to watch go through this. I am really disappointed in your 'professional' judgement. What a bummer. A note to other people looking for someone to care for your loved one - look somewhere else.
