Got canceled on three times. Showed up 10 minutes late with my three children under 6 years of age and was told that they “told (me) they had told me only two people are allowed in the exam room.” When I repeated that they had not, I was told that I was now 15 minutes late and they would not see me. One star is generous. The front desk were the least accommodating ofany office I have worked with or visited.
Will not bring my son back here. Staff is horrible
If you need a pediatric ophthalmologist Dr.Stathacopoulus is the person to see. Dr. Rena A. Stathacopoulos, MD was highly recommended by several specialists and clients of hers. I learned why at the very first visit. My son has a severe eye disorder, his first encounter with her was like magic. She had his attention, did the eye exam while he was in his stroller and she took a knee and used her tools. She is very thorough, implemented something new at each visit to leave surgery as absolute last resort. As visits went on, She expressed worry appropriately and expressed joy when significant improvement was shown. I say this because it showed she truly cares about her patients. My son’s eyes have shown Significant improvement and he seemed to come out of his shell now that he can see better. She is very knowledgeable and clearly an expert. I highly recommend Dr.Stathacopoulus! (The SLO Eye Associates clinic Covid Policy of mask and no extra visitors was explained with phone line operator voice message, when booking appointments, confirming appointments and was easy to understand.)
Absolutely horrible experience at the San Luis office. They never informed me of the one child rule and only after getting to the appointment from Paso did they inform me I’d have to reschedule. I cancelled..no way I will be returning after being made to feel like a criminal for bringing my infant with me!!
Incredibly rude front desk staff. We've brought our children here a few times already. Most recent visit, I walk in with my 2 kids. The receptionist asks if I've been notified of their newest policies. I answer no. She looks at my kids and says only the one child who has an appointment can come back. I replied that was fine, my 10 yr old can sit in the waiting room. NO she says, he cannot. The waiting room is for adults and my 10 yr old will have to sit out in the foyer. This is an area that opens to the parking lot! I asked her how she would feel if my kid gets abducted?! She just coldly stared at me. This is all after I had filled out the paperwork and signed their new policy of $75 fee if you don't attend your appointment. I told her we are leaving and they better not charge me for that. UNBELIEVABLE!!! We WONT be back.
Rude office staff. I kindly asked the receptionist if she could ask the Dr a quick question and her response was “Ok (sigh and eye roll)… but it’s only going to make her upset!” There is absolutely no reason to respond that way!
We scheduled two of my kids to see the eye doctor per our pediatrician‘s recommendation. We have ALWAYS scheduled them in the TEMPLETON office in the past. So we call the TEMPLETON office and schedule them, gonna be a long wait— few months till they can get us in— which is fine. Last week they call and remind of us of our appointment —like 5 times for some weird reason (no mention of SLO office) and we thought we were good to go. My wife brings the kids to the TEMPLETON office this morning and she is told that we were scheduled for the SLO office. What?! We checked all our paperwork they sent to us and nowhere did it say we were scheduled for the SLO office. Ok they are bad at communicating as if that is bad enough… the thing that got us was not only did they not apologize at all for the confusion but said we may need to pay the missed appointment fee! Wait what?! I mean even when we called the SLO office to talk out the situation they said it showed TEMPLETON listed in the notes, so why would it be on us that they messed up the scheduling?! I wouldn’t recommend this office but doesn’t look like there are many Pediatric Ophthalmologists in this area so if you do schedule an appointment with them, make sure to triple check which office you are scheduled for because if they sign you up for the wrong office it’s going to be your fault.
A retinal specialist and more this doctor is amazing. She takes care of both my wife and I, with our retinol and my macular degeneration, it's nice to have a place that has so much of the right equipment and people train to use it and the nicest office you could ask for and serving both San Luis Obispo and the north county through a Templeton office, makes this a really wonderful choice. Thanks doc you're appreciated
Had a badly drooping left eyelid. Dr. S did a stellar job of making things normal. I saw her the day after surgery and yu couldn't tell I had an operation. No bruising, no pain....no sweat. I would trust her with any operation in a heartbeat.
My left eye muscles were not controlling my eye motions correctly leading to double vision that was getting worse. Dr. Stathacopoulos performed surgery to correct the problem and the outcome was amazing! I highly recommend her if you have a similar problem requiring surgery.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
