Dr. Johnson is kind and compassionate, and his staff is as well. I highly recommend him if you find yourself needing a Radiation Oncologist.

Just don't. I'm torn between saying anything negative about physicians when probably most of the irritation is with a poorly run office. In the end though, I totally despise physicians that can't SEE how poorly things are being run. In short, I tried contacting this office to simply set up an appt and guess what? You won't get anyone on the phone. You get a rude message telling you that you have to have your MRI done beforehand. Ok, it's just insulting, the recording. Post MRI done, nothing but messages so I ask for Office Manager. I explain what I'm trying to do, you know, something weird like, Make a Blasted Appt. She returns call in 5 days. Tells me Dr. Johnson's person has been out sick or something. That's why ALL my messages haven't been responded to. Finally, a simple appt is made. Now, for the FUN part. Generally, I arrive early (as a Blasted courtesy), to fill out papers. OMG. You've never SEEN a catalog of forms like what they throw at you. First though, it gets better, I GUESS your appt time is made with the intention of you going downstairs to have an xray done, and oh, while you're there, you can work on filling out the nearly 30 pages of forms that require signatures and printed names on just about every single one. So, I fill out papers pretty fast, and working on those and getting an xray, come back upstairs, Finally finish filling out papers and guess what? I'm only 2 or 3 minutes past my APPT TIME. That's the TIME his OFFICE made the appt for. Still, with only 2 other people in the waiting room, it's 45 minutes before she calls me back. Since I've been in and out of offices since 1988, I have a Rule: I arrive 30 min early, again, Common Courtesy, from the time They set my appt, I wait 30 minutes. If I haven't been called in, I get the hell up and leave. There are too many doctors vying for you to be their patient and guess what? They might consider your time as valuable as theirs. I ask the girl, "is he in the building?" "Am I going to wait in this room for 30 minutes?" So, he comes in, a nice sort, he placates, like doctors do, thinking that'll smooth everything over. He wanted me to send PIX of something going on with my back. Within 5 days of visit, I called and ask for his office. You won't believe this, I get the same blasted message I've been getting for 3 months, she's out or something. I call back, ASK for a HUMAN being that works with Dr. Johnson. Ok, so they get his Nurse, or personal assistant on the line. She gives info on where to send photos. Now, over 2 weeks later, no response from anyone at that office, which comes back to having inept office personnel. This isn't sour grapes, these are facts. Stop sitting and waiting for hours on doctors who are either blind to their inept office staff or simply don't care. Find a dr who cares. My heart Physician, with dozens of patients in waiting, gets into my room to visit within minutes. It's so amazing I actually put the timer on him every time and we joke about it.

Dr. Johnson is kind and compassionate. His staff is as well. He takes the time to really listen and provides information in a way that a patient can understand. I highly recommend him if you find yourself in the situation or needing a Radiation Oncologist in San Luis Obispo.

Dr. Johnson is top-notch. His kind, caring manner, and his knowledge base, reassure me; I know I'm in good hands.

Dr. Robert Johnson repaired my lumbar with rods and screws from my L-2 thru my S-1 in 2008! I have been totally happy with my results and have lived a full life without pain from my surgery. I Do have severe osetoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis that effects every bone and joint in me but I can honestly say I would NEVER change a thing that he did to help me!! I stay active running my home at nearly 85% and am 72 years young. YES you have to sit and wait in the office, often in pain, but when you are working with top notch experienced neuro-surgeons, you just take the good with the bad and tough it out. I have been in to see him several times since 2008 and was always treated with the utmost care and concern by both him and his staff. They return my phone calls and do their very best to accomodate me. If that means I have to change MY appointments--then so be it. This is the medical world we now live in and to have a great doctor---I will do just about anything!!

Dr. Johnson was my oncologist and he was terrific. Does anyone know where he has gone as he has left Eisenhower?

My husband was referred to Dr. Johnson for an opinion on radiation. Our experience at Dr. Johnson's office was excellent! We received fantastic service from his staff everyone made us feel welcome and they were very professional. Dr. Johnson was very straight forward and was also very knowledgeable of my Husband's medical history. His opinion was a great help to us and we were very pleased and satisfied with his service. We would definitely recommend Dr. Johnson to anyone.

Thanks to Dr. Johnson & associate Dr. Karl Swann, I have permanent back destruction. I went from being an Aerobics instructor to being permanentlydisabled & home bound. These two surgeons totally demolished my spine. After the surgery these two doctors wouldn't return my phone calls and disavowed any knowledge of my existence. If you or your loved one is considering anyone of these surgeons or any other member of their team as your surgeon, I will pray for you.
