Sean Devine's Online Review Report Card

Both my wife and I have been treated by Dr. Devine. Our experiences with him were similar. He is friendly, empathetic, very smart, very experienced, and very able to communicate the diagnosis, treatment, and risks. From what I’ve heard, his reputation among other physicians is very high.The staff in his office is very friendly and professional. I have absolutely no reservations returning to him for treatment, or recommending him to friends and family.

I would highly recommend seeing another orthopedist. Dr. Devine was condescending and rude. I felt belittled upon leaving my appointment, for which I waited nearly 3 weeks.

Dr. Devine has done surgery on my wife and my brother. I found him to be exceptionally caring doctor. Both surgeries went very well and his follow up was appreciated. We need more caring doctors like doctor Devine.

I had the worst experience I've ever had with a medical provider. I was seen by Dr Devine at French Hospital. He said I must schedule an appointment with him the following Monday. He said his schedule was booked but to tell his staff to fit me in at his request. Their system has 10 prompts, none of which allows you to speak with a live person. I've left 7 Messages with no response. I finally saw my medical provider who had Dr Devine's cell #. She explained my frustration and he said to call again. I left several more messages with no response. So I'm unable to schedule a follow up visit after hospitalization. Dignity Home Health said they have left several messages for him with no response either. They said they are unable to provide adequate care due to a lack of response from this office. They even said if I am finally able to speak with Dr Devine to please tell him there is a major flaw in their system. The mission of Dignity Health is human kindness. They have failed miserably.

I was referred to dr. Devine 4 a torn labrum in my hip and spinal stenosis in my back I waited three weeks for them to contact me and give me an appointment the date of my appointment their secretary contacted me and said that they were unable to see me that they are are you referring me back to my primary care doctor so this whole time I have been waiting in pain for this doctor to treat my situation just to get told that they are not going to see me and to go back to my primary care very unprofessional and unorganized with a lack of care for the patients needs

Dr. Devine does not care about his patients. I continued to get worse and worse for 5 months before changing doctors and being taken care of right away. He was only interested in sharing stories about his wonderful relationships with his other patients and when it was time for me to ask questions is was time for him to leave. I would not recommend him to anyone.

Everyone in the office of the Central Coast Ortho Clinic in Pismo Beach were so friendly, helpful and efficient! I expect a lot from staff from my own customer service attitude and they truly made you feel important and took the time to listen and work with you. Dr. Devine was super 'down to earth' and realistic. We worked out a PT program letting me make the choice with full explanation of my options. Thank you for a worthwhile visit to your office.

Devine does a great job on surgery and answers all your questions. However his assistant is very unorganized and seems like she hates the job, when taking out my stitches she left a bunch of the tape messily on my knee, when my husband asked her to fill out a paper for edd cause he had to take time out of work she rudely explained that this was not her job but she would “try and fit it in”, and then proceeded to leave the paperwork in the exam room with us, we ended up having to hand it to Devine at the end of our visit. I was supposed to start physical therapy 3 weeks ago, no one told my husband that upon my release from surgery, we learned this upon meeting with Devine afterwards and have been calling everyday for the last week in a half now to get a referral to start, with no luck. Now she is jeopardizing my chances at a full healthy recovery. I was excited to get Devine as my surgeon in the beginning, but after receiving care from his assistant I would recommend finding another doctor.
