List of Isela Penunuri's Reviews
I have been seeing Dr. Penunuri for the past 3 years since I moved to San Marcos. She is my general practitioner and I have been impressed by her knowledge and bedside manner. She is no-nonsense and cares about her patients. I admit I am a difficult patient and most doctors get frustrated by my questions. She has been great, taking the time to speak with me and answer my questions. I appreciated her frankness and how she cares for her patients enough that I now have my husband seeing her.
Spoke to Dr. Penunuri three times on 12/04/2021 as a Telehealth appointment in-regards to a head cold I was prescribed Amoxicillin by someone else five days earlier and I was told if I started getting worse to call back, that's when I talked to Penunri she asked if my chest was tight or hard to breath or coughing I told her no and that I had a head cold nasal congestion. She does not listen, she only seem to be concerned with if I was COVID vaccinated along with my flu shot and I told her yes on both. She called in three prescriptions for coughing for a cough that I don't have. The third time she called and after I told her I do not have a cough, my chest is not tight or it's not hard to breathe she told me to keep taking the original prescription of ten day supply of Amoxicillin and if I'm not better then they would prescribe something else. Long story short, I would not suggest her to anyones who needs a doctor. The worst part is she was the only on call doctor today, that does not say much for Graybill Clinic Escondido.
When trying to choose the right physician for you it can be very difficult to find someone that meets all of your criteria. I thought I found a good primary care physician when I met Dr. Penunuri however, she turned out to be somebody that I would rather not interact with. Initially she addressed my complaints and had a very relaxed attitude and overtime she really started to come off as judgmental and as if she didn't have time to listen to what I was trying to explain to her. Due to her lack of concern a pain that I have been dealing with for the past few months has gotten worse because she did not take the time to hear me out. She blew me off. She made me feel very uncomfortable and made me feel like I couldn't go and see her because of her attitude the last time I mentioned it. She also made a snarky comment to another nurse or doctor that walked back with a patient. In addition to that, she has failed on multiple occasions to follow up with me regarding test results. I remember waiting an entire month just to get an appointment with a specialist all because she did not do her damn job and get the referral in - even after calling and checking to see if the referral was even made. I have yet to hear about a test result that was supposed to be given to me back in the middle of 2020. I understand that there's a lot going on with COVID-19 being a major factor and at the same time I also understand that as a doctor you have obligations to your patients and it does not seem like Dr. Penunuri is up to the challenge/task. And now I am on another search to find a doctor that can better serve me. She is not the worst physician I've ever had however she is close enough and I would not recommend her to anybody. Especially if you are someone that is looking for a doctor to be supportive, caring and all around someone that really gives a damn about your health and well-being. Not just someone who is there to collect a paycheck.P.S. : everyone has a different experience this happened to be a below satisfactory one for me and if you decide to go with her I wish you the best and I hope that she is what you are looking for.
Dr. Penunuri has been my doctor for a few years now. She is attentive, concerned and caring. She feels more like the doctors used to be before insurance and pharma got so big. I feel very lucky to have her on my side.
Dr Penunuri is an excellent physician who cares about her patients and takes time to listen and ask questions each visit. She is also my Father's Dr. Whom we've both been seeing since 2016, might even be since 2015.I highly recommend Dr Penunuri
I have been a patient of Dr. Penunuri since I arrived in San Marcos in 2016. Dr. Penunuri and her staff are very attentive and we always have a chat before they begin to examine me. Thank Dr. Penunuri for your great bedside manner. I enjoy being your patient.
What can I say? For anyone that has anxiety about going to the doctor (like me), Dr. Penunuri walks in and exudes a relaxed but trustworthy demeanor. She takes the time..all the time that you need, combined with a proactive and informed approach to treatment. She's what anyone would hope for of a doctor..she actually listens and cares.
Dr. Penunuri cares about her patients. She spends a lot of time listening, and is very thorough. She gets to know you as a person and makes you feel like your health is very important to her. I cannot recommend her enough. Also, the staff at Graybill San Marcos is super friendly.
Dr. Penunuri is a caring physician. She is thorough in her examination and recommendations for health and well being. She follows up with clear reports of her findings of her recommended blood tests and other reports. I feel my health and well-being is a priority to her and I feel well cared for each time I see her!
Dr. Penunuri is the best Doctor I’ve met!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
