List of Andrew J. Maxwell's Reviews
Dr Maxwell is amazingly detailed, great with the kids. And he is the most knowledgeable person I have met on Ehlers Danlos and Mast Cell Activation syndrome. When it became clear my son had a connect tissue disorder we were referred to him and I am so grateful.
Dr. Maxwell goes out of his way to find the best treatment for his patients. My daughter has been his patient for almost 5 years. He is quite good at working "out of the box" for problems other physicians have given up on. Keep in mind that for complex patients, there may be charges that are not covered by insurance but are crucial to helping in diagnosis. We have found value in everything we have done with him. It helps to be a motivated patient family as well!
thank you for taking such good care of my daughter
My teenage daughter and I are both happy about our visit with Dr. Maxwell. He developed a good rapport with my daughter during the testing process, explained clearly what is going on with her heart, and communicated the details to her primary care physician. The office team is very friendly and helpful.
My third child was born with a heart murmur. At the time we were living in Europe and our first cardiologist didn't really offer much besides, "it will fix itself in time". Though this was reassuring in some way, I had only a single measurement of the hole to hold on to as information. When we arrived in California I did a yelp search for pediatric cardiologists and found Heart of the Valley. During our first visit with them, I was pretty much a ball of high strung chaos and their entire team was like a sigh of relief. My daughter and I were welcomed to the office and given time to settle in and calm down without feeling rushed or hurried through the process. Babies need to nurse sometimes to chill, and they totally get that. Dr. Maxwell took time familiarizing himself with our situation. He explained things to me, the magic of the heart. I never left with an unanswered question which really is the sign of a great doc in my opinion. We have since moved overseas and still tell people about Dr. Maxwell and his lovely team. If we ever came back to the area, that's where our daughter would be seen again.
If you are looking for a primary care coordinator that stays up to date with all of the latest research and has a network of other specialists that treat dysautonomia patients, then Dr. Maxwell is the right fit for you and your child! He listens to your children and actually cares about them. He makes no promises for a magical cure, but spends hours of his personal time including weekends to fight for our children to help them be as well as possible! Mother of two Potsies!
He will charge you $3,000 just to see him and his front office won’t call you back you have to call them over and over again. And then there’s insurance billing and another fee of his just to email you (which is basically a patient portal that is free everywhere else) I’ve waited months and right as I was about to get an appointment she wants my moms credit card. No trustworthy doctor would ever do this. Going to Stanford instead
Friendly staff, an amazing Doctor, & great service.
The staff is great, but the office manager is the only reason why I do not bring my child to this clinic. I came to this clinic for a routine checkup, but all they want is my money. Dr. Maxwell is great and sophisticated and an incredible doctor, but honestly, you are better off going to Stanford.
First off, I want to say that Dr. Maxwell and his medical assistants have offered me great service and I really appreciate all that he has done for my family. But, this company's office manager is rude, and a woman that only focuses on money. I have never received such harsh treatment from an office manager and did not expect the demeaning things that were said to me. My daughter went in for a simple murmur and the office manager insisted that we pay out of pocket for no apparent reason. She also looked like she did not know what she was doing at the front desk and tends to do her personal work at the office. As far as I am concerned, work is work, it's not a place where you call the babysitter and finish buying clothing. The rest of the office's staff is very pleasing and treated me and my family very well. Anyone who goes to this clinic, beware of the office manager...

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
