List of Edward Sun Inc's Reviews
Dr. Sun is a very nice man. I have seen him twice over past back surgery’s and Dr.Sun is a straight shooter and tells it like it is! I would recommend Dr. Sun for any Spine problems. Thanks, David Harville. (2023)
Dr. Sun did laminotomy/laminectomy surgery on L4, L5 and the sacrum in my lower back region in late July 2022. I was in profound pain - full length of back of left butt, leg, behind the knee, and outside angle area prior to the operation. The pre-op MRI showed several areas of abnormal bone impinging into the tunnel where the spinal cord passes through. I'm 66 years old and my back is really beat up from many decades of sports, very heavy use and exertion. After the surgery I was free of pain! For me it was a miracle. I tell people I am reborn. As far as I'm concerned Dr. Sun is the best. You won't find a better spine surgeon/super spine mechanic out there. I am very grateful.
Very cool doctor. Helped fix my thumb
If I could give Dr. Sun negative stars, I would. Dr. Sun was my mother's doctor. He was not just ineffective, but uncaring and dangerous. My mother was in excruciating back pain, and when she called Dr. Sun to help her, he told her to wait until her normal appointment a week later. She told him she was living "hour to hour" when he was talking about days. He did not offer any remedy. She went to the hospital a few days later, where they discovered a bone infection. When she told Dr. Sun, he gave her another infusion (which is actually against all medical advice by three other doctors) and didn't provide any additional care. His lack of care could have caused her to go septic. If you don't want you or your loved ones to die, you should see another doctor.
Last year, my girlfriend got a cyst in her spinal canal and sometimes could bearly walk. She was in a lot of pains. She went to see a doctor who only gave her shots and massage that did not solve the problem at all. Then she went to see a surgeon in SJ who asked for exorbitant amount of co-payment to remove the cyst. Both of them are very shady. Fortunately Dr Edward Sun was the doctor she chose to do the job. Dr Sun assured and reassured that it would be a small operation and no need to worry. He was very kind and professional. After the surgery, she is back to liiving her normal life without any pain. It has been about ten minths since the surgery. Her coworkers still can not believe she has totally recovered. I have high respect for Dr Sun. He deserves five stars rating.

I'm remiss in letting my review of this miraculous physician lapse. It is almost exactly one year after major anterior/posterior lumbar fusion surgery. I postponed it as long as I could. The first surgeon ( Dr Sakiomoto) scared me and gave me a 50 percent chance that I would be about the same post surgery, 25% chance that I would be much better and 25% chance that I would me much worse. At the tine I was in such excruciating pain that I could not stand, sit, walk or sleep. I wanted a second opinion! It was not easy to find a surgeon comfortable with performing my surgery. It was complicated and ( full disclosure) my ex- husband is a local orthopedic surgeon ( operating on a colleague's ex wife ... a risk not a lot were willing to take on) . This man and his staff are top notch. Proof is in the result, I have needed very little in terms of follow up. Recovery was BRUTAL, but given The pandemic, it was well- timed. I was able to get in- home PT, OT and nursing care which was needed for months. I am not quite good as new, but pretty damn close! Thank you Dr, Edward Sun. This Dr. is self- assured and humble ( relative to other orthopedic surgeons and commensurate with his expertise and skill). If you have to go under the knife for back surgery, this is your surgeon
Very very good doctor who solved my spine problem and left arm pain right away without resorting to surgery. He sent me to Aero Physical Therapy in Burlingame and they fixed my pain problem in only two sessions without taking medications. The doctor I saw before Dr Sun suggested surgery and The worst part was that I have to pay almost $20 thousand out of pocket money cause my Medicare and Anthem insurance would not be fully accepted . Dr Sun was very honest and forward by telling me I didn’t need surgery. I appreciate his honesty and his knowledge in his specialty .
Dr. Sun and staff are fantastic. Positive experience.
Finally, I had to have surgery for my lower back. It was inevitable. Dr. Sun did the surgery. He explained the affects. I had to deal with the irritation, but as days went by I improved each day. Dr. Sun and his staff are the best. I recommend him to everyone that asks!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
