List of Howard Belfer's Reviews
Wow…these reviews don’t match the Dr Belfer I know. He’s definitely five star neurologist (specialist) Dr Belfer has treated me for Almost 3 years. Honestly, I haven’t had any negative visits with him. I hope this review from a person who knows a great physician specializing In neurology is. I’ve seen 8 neurologist lifetime and Dr Belfer has been my favorite. He’s caring, asks all the right questions, and prescribes the right antidote. I’m really clueless how anyone would have a negative experience with Dr Belfer. All I can say is remember that your energy introduces you, before you introduce yourself. Even through this coronavirus pandemic, Dr Belfer an upbeat professional.
Notice how many 1 stars? Stay away from Howie. I needed a new Dr. for my epilepsy when I moved. I found him in Aetna’s list of providers. He did a 5 minute exam, asked me what meds I was taking, gave me a new prescription, didn’t have time for questions, and left. I paid my co-pay. After, I was told he didn’t take any Obama care plans even thru Aetna, and billed me the full cost.
I agree with the 1 star review and surprised he received good review that read like commercials. Later his report didn’t match what 2 previous Dr. had. He had examination results he never did and symptoms we never talked about.
As a decades long migraineur whose headaches were now out of control, I was looking options. So many new drugs available - what might work? After a neuro history and physical, Dr. Belfer sat quietly in his office and discussed options/risks/side effects - that made me feel a part of the decision. On my third visit I tried Botox and it seems he was right to encourage me to do so - my headaches are significantly improved. His staff managed all the insurance etc. for the Botox too.
Dr Belfer was an acceptable doctor. My experience with his office was ruined by the receptionist and the billing department. The receptionist considers any request a "demand," and is unable to hold a conversation. I paid in full for my first visit with her in person. She did not register the payment correctly so they continued to bill me. Their payment service is unable to communicate with the office regarding anything, and they only return phone calls after several weeks delay. When I called the office directly after the bill went to collections, the receptionist hung up on me. She is obsessed with taking every comment personally and is uniquely unsuitable to deal with the public. Choose another doctor -- it's not worth putting up with her rudeness and unprofessional attitude.
I have been seeing Dr. Belfer for over 15 years and he is very attentive to my condition. The girls are very friendly at the front desk and are very helpful to me if I need anything.
Dr Belfer is an excellent Doctor, he gets to the point of figuring out your problem. He diagnoses your problem in his office, & gives you the least medication that can truly help you. During his examination he gives the most time possible to figure out your concerns & he gives his opinion based on his great knowledge he optaned over the years of practice.ð???
this is a review for Dr Belfer's receptionist, NOT Dr Belfer (who is a great doctor). The receptionist is a rude person with NO compassion! I called in on Friday with excruciating pain trying to get the dr to talk to me and advise as to what to do. The Dr. never called back. The entire weekend I remained in pain. I called the Dr's office on Monday and the receptionist told me that my message was given to the dr on Friday. When I asked why I didn't receive a call on Friday, she replied that she didn't get a chance to call me back, since she's the only one in the office and very busy. Then she had the nerve to tell me...Let's be nice to each other!!!! She didn't approve of me questioning her incompetence. She is not qualified to be a Dr's receptionist! May she feel desperate and in pain one day and be treated the way she treated me. May her Karma lead her to the right path, unlikely in this lifetime, but perhaps in the next!
I'm surprised Dr. Belfer received such good reviews. There's misinformation in his report about the examination he actually performed on me and he was even derogatory in his opinionated statements; not fully listening and taking note of physical symptoms that I had consulted him on. He spent more time talking to my insurance company , beforehand. No wonder it had taken so long for me to receive his report.
This star is about the person answering calls. That person sounds bossy, seems like in a hurry and does not listen, keeps interrupting while you are talking, very unpleasant. I'm only trying to get an appointment for one of our clients. We have heard good things about Dr. Belfer but having to talk to a person that works in that clinic is a turn off.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
