I couldn't be happier with Dr. Selvakumar, her care of my elderly Mom has been impeccable. She truly cares and makes my Mom fee; heard. She responds to any call or question I have and her and her staff are the most responsive and caring medical staff I have ever worked with.

After my PCP/Ob Gyn for the past 21 years retired, it was time to find a new one. I began my search a few months before the pandemic hit but could not find anyone in the San Mateo area who was taking on new patients or did not have a four- to five-month wait. I called Dr. Sangwan's office in San Mateo and spoke with Lilly, who was very friendly and welcoming. Since their San Mateo office is a concierge service, I made an appointment with their Sunnyvale office. Dr. Sangwan was friendly and straightforward, and from the first visit I felt at ease and comfortable. Dr. Sangwan addressed all of my medical concerns at my first appointment. I have been back twice since for follow up appointments. At each appointment Lilly and then Dr. Sangwan have taken time to see how I was doing mentally as well as physically. I highly recommend Dr. Sangwan as a primary care physician. She is worth the extra services if you see her in San Mateo. Her Sunnyvale office is a short drive down 280 South from San Mateo. Plenty of free parking.

Dr. Sangwan has been giving my 93 y/o mom and I excellent care for about 4 years. She takes the time to thoughtfully listen to our concerns and offers compassionate, age appropriate advice. She is able to see us in a timely manner when we have needed to been seen unexpectedly. She has been doing video health appts. with my mom who lives in an Assisted Living facility which is very helpful during this time of Covid-19. Dr. Sangwan is extremely knowledgeable on many health topics. She is caring, cheerful and dedicated to her medical profession. Lilly, her administrative assistant, is a dependable liaison between Dr. Sangwan, and I which is very important for quality care. We have been very pleased with the medical care we have received. I highly recommend Dr. Sangwan!!

Dr. Sangwan is a great doctor. She is always responsive and very knowledgeable. She has been my PCP for over 5 years now and she has been guiding me with great attention and care. I will highly recommend her as a PCP.

I heard about San Mateo Primary Care through my parents who had recently moved to California and have always enrolled with concierge medical practices. They had met Dr. Selvakumar and instantly liked her. She was kind, compassionate and thorough. Upon their encouragement, I went to see her as well. I have not had a doctor's appointment in years that did not last under 15 minutes. Dr. Selvakumar asked me question after question to truly get a sense of my well being. I liked her so much that I had my husband sign up as well as my 3 children. We can always get an appointment and she communicates regularly with us through MyHealth. I was so impressed by her follow through and she even made a house call to see my father. I feel incredibly fortunate to have my entire family under her care. Lily and Janelle are the trained medical assistants who always greet you with a smile and make you feel as if you are their only patient.San Mateo Primary Care is worth the cost, hands down.

What can I say about Dr. Sangwan and Dr. Selvakumar these two doctors are amazing they have literally saved my life several times and I cannot find any words to say thank you and let them know how much I appreciate all they have done Now let’s talk about these cooking classes what a great idea to get that up and running I have to say I am a family of ( 1 ) 😃 and cook purely for survival not for any enjoyment but you guys have got me looking forward to the next cooking class what you’re doing for every patient of yours is so off-the-wall crazy and loving it diet is so important to everybody’s house and I’m looking forward to getting the weight off me my diabetes under control and U2 are playing a major role once again thank you Now what can we say about Lily she runs that office Very professionally and makes you feel very relaxed and makes you smile as he takes your blood pressure your weight and brings you to your room where the doctor is going to see you ...... I'm so glad to be a patient under San Mateo Primary Care! My previous PCP wasn't so great and had a "let's get you in and out ASAP" manner - if you didn't ask all your questions about your health at the time of your visit, you were at a loss. Thankfully, Dr. Sangwan and Dr. Selvakumar and the San Mateo Primary Care team are the exact opposite! Both doctors approach health from an overall wellness standpoint and take into account the whole picture - mental, physical, and emotional health (not just your vitals and a quick look over). I first started seeing Dr. Sangwan but ended up having Dr. Selvakumar as my PCP when she joined the practice. While some doctors have a "matter-of-fact" tone that can be discouraging and make you feel like you should have more "common sense" about medical information - Dr. Selvakumar is the exact opposite! I never feel afraid to ask or clarify about anything when discussing my health. She never rushes through my appointments and is very thoughtful and thorough in discussing any concerns I may have. I can't express enough how grateful I am to be under Dr. Selvakumar's care. When I inquired about genetic testing based on my mother's history of breast cancer, she didn't think twice about ordering it for me (even though I'm young and in my 30's). She took the time to go over my results and since I was already doing mammograms because of my mom's history, she made the decision to order a Breast MRI with Contrast based on the recommendations listed on my genetic testing results. I'm so glad that she made this decision, because it turned out I had an early stage of breast cancer that could only be detected on the MRI! My oncologist said I was very lucky to have a great PCP because by the time the cancer would have shown up on a mammogram, who knows how advanced/aggressive it would have been to treat(!!!). Thank you Dr. Selvakumar for being such a proactive physician who truly cares and listens to their patients and thank you San Mateo Primary Care for being such a great care team!
