I had the displeasure of being referred to this despicable excuse of a psychiatrist. I legitimately believe he took pleasure in me being completely vulnerable and being at his mercy. This person showed me no humanity.. If you're struggling in your life and need help please keep in mind that Gary works at a low income community clinic, probably hates his job and you will likely be treated accordingly.

After a few phone visits, we came to an understanding that he is limited in what he can do according to newer medical guidelines. It completely changed my attitude toward him. It was an adjustment for me, but I now trust him and don't hold the screwed-up system against him. He is only allowed to prescribe medications and discuss whether they seemed effective, any side effects, etc. His preference would be to provide more comprehensive care but is bound by current law. Prior to Dr. Balian I was cared for by a psychiatrist who for years treated my bipolar disorder with talk therapy and medication management. I'm disappointed I can no longer get that level of care.

Dr. Balian is an amazing doctor who truly cares about his patients. He listens very closely and is very knowledgeable. He was able to figure out my health problem that presented as anxiety and depression. He changed my life and I feel so much better. I cannot recommend him enough.

The only problem I had with him was he was treating me and I was getting to trust him and then all of sudden he just up and left no explanation no nothing it was just like he disappeared I felt abandoned this is the only reason why I would not recommenced Dr. Balain to anyone
