Terrible!

Dr.Baker is a rude man does not listen to his patients. I would not recommend no one to go to this Doctor. He’s just very unprofessional.

This man was irritable, condescending and rude. I have never had a Dr. grit his teeth at me because I asked a question more than once. It was really unnecessary the way he behaved and I’m almost embarrassed to tell the story because it’s so unbelievable! I would definitely not recommend this Dr. especially to anyone that is incapable of looking out for themself. He’s a hot head and should not be allowed to be assigned patients!

I've known, have been treated, and worked with Doc Baker for close to 15 years and honestly, he's one of the best specialists and people I've ever known. He's a straight shooter and he'll be upfront with you about whether he thinks he can help you or not. Compared with every other specialist with whom I've known and worked, he's easily the top one. Keep in mind, because he's in a specialty field, he's a really busy guy, so he's not going to do what your Primary Care Provider should be doing by sitting with you and counseling you for 20+ minutes. He's there to assess and give his opinion. I'm a Physician Assistant so I've worked with many providers and if you want quality care with a good person who's known in Portland for excellence in practice and research, then go see Doc.

Dr. Baker's office has been the first to actually treat my chronic hives! I've had horrible giant hives on-and-off for years, likely caused by stress. They've put me on Xolair, work with my insurance to get my medicine delivered to their officd on time, and are great with scheduling and billing.

I don't know what to say. It's probably my fault. I should have expected this. I go in for my appointment and I list out my issues to the RN. I tell her that I am currently taking OTC fluticasone and OTC antihistimines and that it just isn't enough. I have been doing that for years and this year it is severely worse and I need some help. So she calls in Dr. Baker and in a total conversation time of 2min, he tells me my options are to do nasal spray and antihistimines, immunotherapy or an experimental drug treatment. He says he wouldn't recommend immontherapy this late in the season, so I say, "Ok I guess nasal spray and antihistimines it is". So he goes and writes me a prescription for OTC fluticasone and OTC antihistimines and doesn't come back. I said to the RN, "Uh, this is exactly what I am doing now." She says, "yes". I say, "well, the reason I came here was because that isn't working." She said, "I would recommend you take more." Wow. Ok thanks for that stellar analysis of my symptoms and attempt to relieve my symptoms. I will not be back.

Dr. Baker seems really great, if you can see him. We went twice (then realized this is not the place for us) with our 11 month old son, who had outrageously bad eczema all over his body, and with whom we have observed significant reactions to foods including an anaphylactic reaction to peanuts. We saw Dr. Baker once, for 5 minutes, on the first visit. The rest of the time it was a parade of nurses and PAs, all of which we had to re explain our son's situation to every time a new one walked in the room. And, each appointment took well over an hour and a half -- tough for a squirmy 1 year old. No IGE blood test was ever done, no discussion of a RAST test, no mention of an Epi pen for the peanut allergy, they just cleared the skin with steroid creams and hydrocortisone, then did a scratch test and when everything came back negative (he was b'fed and mom has devoutly avoided all foods he was reacting to), the PA told us to 'come back in a year.' And her tone was pretty gaslighting; as if we were wasting their time. No talk of addressing the peanut allergy, nada. Thankfully we've moved on to a great allergist, but this place is not the one.

Dr.Baker is a kind, and knowledgeable doctor. One of the best allergist in Portland. My kids get their allergy care from him and we always feel that we are getting the best information and the best treatment.Not many allergist in town with such a wealth of information, and yet makes it seem approachable.Highly recommend him.

Came here to get a food allegry test. I downloaded the application online so that it wouldn't take as long, It did help shave off a little time.The Dr's assistant (who was very nice, but had a loud speaking voice) spent the most time with me, she went though the application and ask several more questions that took another 20 mins. Finally she ran the food allergy test on me (on my arm) this took about 30 mins. After the test, you at get "face time" with Dr Baker. He was very nice I thought and helpful and showed concern about my wellness. He gave me some solid advice and said he would fax my results to my Dr.Also, I received 10 invoices all together in 10 different envelopes on the same day for the same amount that WAS NOT overdue.. Billing dept fail.. All and All it's what I expected. It took around 2 hours total. (I was aware of this before my appointment).
