Erik Schten's Online Review Report Card

It was my husband's and my first time seeing Dr. Schten and we were pleased. The waiting room was empty and he was on time, pleasant, thorough, and efficient. The front desk staff was okay, but I am used to front desk staff being gruff, so that was an issue. COVID protocol was enforced for everyone's safety. I will be a regular.

I would not recommend this office. Their service is shoddy at best. I initially saw Dr. Greenberg but was given over to another Doctor when Dr. Greenberg could no longer see patients for personal reasons. After being hit on by an inappropriate doctor in their office, I discreetly asked to see another dermatologist. I was given an appointment with Dr. Schten. Even though I'd been to this office with my insurance accepted numerous times, I was told he sometimes "prefers" that patients with my state provided insurance go to the community clinic first. I reminded the receptionist that I'd been welcomed at their office for years, that I was a cancer survivor at high risk for Covid and did not feel safe during this pandemic going to a public clinic that I've never been required to go to before. The nurse said she would double check with the doctor and call me. When I didn't hear back, I assumed all was well and showed up for my early morning appointment. It was only then I was told my appointment was cancelled and that I had to go to the public clinic instead. I guess Dr. Schten doesn't like to sully himself with those less fortunate. He could have taken the appointment  but "preferred" not to. So now I feel debased by two doctors at this office. And still without the proper safe care I need. Do not entrust yourself with this practice. You won't be valued...

Dr. Schnten not only listens well, he also explains what needs to be done very well. He also allows time for patient to fully ask questions before giving a full and comprehensive answers. During the procedure I had, he was very focused on the procedure and at the same time let me know what was happening and how long it would take. I recommend him most highly and would not consider going to any one else for the next procedures my condition calls for.

I have been seeing Dr. Schten for the past 3 years and can say he is the best dermatologist I have ever known plus all the staff is so kind and knowledgeableHe gets a 10 out of 10 in my book

I am grateful for the treatment i have received from Dr. Schten and he is highly recommended by me. I have seen him several times over the past seven years. Dr. Schten has diagnosed my issues and provided successful treatments. He is willing to discuss treatments and answer questions. Very compassionate and a wonderful doctor. I have never had to wait more than ten or fifteen minutes to see him. And my appointments are not scheduled a year out -- usually a week or two and if it's urgent, I am seen immediately. thank you Dr. !

Great Dr, but the Novato clinic wait time will take an hour or longer and your next appointment will take almost a year to get. This clinic is way over crowded with too many patients!
