List of Kathryn Najafi-Tagol's Reviews
Dr Najafi is very thorough and explains everything in detail. I've had cataract surgery by her and continue seeing her 2x a year. She's well respected in the medical community as well. The other doctors in her practice are experienced and friendly and love her staff.
I had been seeing Dr. Najafi for a couple of years but have always felt that she and her partners were overbilling my insurance. They did many tests every year for years, and repeated tests that my optometrist did (even when I told her they had been done). Neither Dr. Najafi or one of her partners explained to me the necessity of each test or the findings. Also, their billing department is not good. I moved and they sent a bill to my old address which I never received, but rather than just calling me to find out why I didn't pay, they sent me to collections (I have a credit score of 830 and ALWAYS pay on time).
This doctor discriminates against patients by NOT accepting those who have insurance through Coverd-California.
Excellent staff and doctor. Prompt, caring and explained technical medical info clearly. I had a great experience here.
I have been a patient of Dr. Najafi-Tagol for many years. I am super impressed by her because she always spend as much time as I need to answer all my questions and she truly cares. Katy is a an amazing doctor with an amazing patient bed-side manner. Katy never missed a day during the pandemic and she put herself and her family at risk to serve her patients. Thank you for your service and thank you for being such caring doctor!!
I have a serious eye problem which can't be cured but the symptoms can be relieved by botox treatments. I had made an appointment for the treatment three months in advance. I arrived early for my appointment and after sitting in the waiting room for about 45 minutes one of the staff members came out to tell me that they did not have any botox. Why couldn't they have notified me the previous day of this situation or at the least informed me on my arrival so that I did not have to waste my time in the waiting room? This is not the way to treat a patient!
Physician and Surgeon Kathryn Najafi earned my trust and confidence beginning with the first visit. Her team of technical assistants were equally impressive. They were especially attentive in taking COOVID 19 precautions. Had cataract surgery on both eyes two weeks apart. No discomfort with either eye following surgery. As the old song goes, "I can see clearly now...".
I was referred to Dr Tagol's office by a friend but did not see Dr Tagol directly so this review is in regards to her practice. I saw Dr Tawa for my eye exam/contact lens appt. In short, due to covid I needed to return in four months to have my eyes dilated. I had called one time in between the four months to see if I could obtain my contact lens prescription as I was running low on lenses. The receptionist indicated I need to have my eyes dilated in order to receive the prescription. This is clearly false as they should have provided the prescription after the exam. After two appts I ended up receiving a bill for over $1200 for a routine eye exam/contact lens fitting. I worked with the billing dept for over four months discussing numerous duplicate charges that were one price on one date and another price on another date but for the same procedure. The office payments that I had paid when I was there in person we're not captured on the invoice and hence they were charging me for things I already paid for. All in all there needs to be more control over what they are charging patients and the practice should let new patients be aware that there waiting room is SHARED with a primary care doctors office. During a pandemic this is information that most people would like to have before arriving for their appt. Unfortunately I will not be returning as the billing portion was extremely unprofessional and my overall experience was truly unpleasant.
Worst experience of my life. The office staff (Emily) does not followup, doesn't send forms promised and are confusing in instructions. Seem much more interested in filling out forms than the patient's welfare. Bordering on rude to boot. Stay away.
Kathryn Najafi damaged my eye during cataract surgery. She dismissed and minimized my questions and concerns. Her follow-up care was negligent - following her usual one-week post-op exam she passed me on to the optometrist in her office for a routine one-month exam for new glasses. Considering the surgical complications she should have been examining my eye weekly. Fortunately, following that unsatisfactory one-week exam I sought a second opinion from another opthalmologist who referred me to a specialist. I have been receiving follow-up care for four months now and my vision remains impaired. There are many competent eye surgeons in the Bay Area - stay away from Kathryn Najafi.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
