I've been researching stem cell procedures for about 1/2 a year now. It started when I came across Dr Centeno's webinars posted on YouTube. I emailed him after I visited the Regenexx website. His office in Colorado immediately responded.  At the time i didn't know there were any clinics in California, until they notified me there was one in San Rafael!   I called and Eva Cardenas that's located in Oceanside gave me all info on Health Link medical center located in Northern California and booked my appointment with Dr Handleman.  The whole process was super smooth and they even accommodated me to get an earlier date than expected.I finally got in to the San Rafael office  and met the staff and Dr. Handleman. He took his time talking to me as we both analyzed my MRI findings.  There was no doubt in my mind that I made the best decision ever on going to see a part of the Regenexx team that Dr Centeno trained. Dr Handleman and his staff are true professionals.  I will be scheduling my PRP procedure in June. I wouldn't be able to trust anyone else after my evaluation with Dr. Handleman.  Thank you Regenexx team!!!!  Can't wait to feel the results in June!  I will post my results then...

This review is for Dr. Stephen Derrington, DO at Health Link Medical Center.  I have been in severe back pain for over a year with a bulging disk in my L5 and torn litigants in my lower back with DDD.  After a year of trying everything except surgery and cortisone shots (can not have as I am a Celilac and it activates my disease)  I sensed my Spine Doctor was frustrated with me as surgery was never an option.  I followed his suggestions and bought a different car, moved to be closer to work so I would not have to drive.....yet pain never went away.   I finally agreed to a nerve block as the pain was so bad and when leaving the office he said too bad there is not stem cell for this to help you.  I left thinking well maybe there is.  From my car I googled stem cell and found Health Link on the internet.  I made an appointment, like what I heard (did so research) and had the treatment this week.  I am a true believer and convert.  AND EVANGELIST!!!The next day after PRP I was able to get out of bed without holding on to my bedside table, the last time that had happened was over a year ago.  They said a few have some immediate relief and I am thankful I am one.  My lower back pain has gone from a 6-8 to a 0-3.....It is really a miracle and am truly thankful.  Had I know this I would have had the PRP last year.  My insurance does not pay and think that is silly of insurance due to all the Dr visits, MRI, X-rays and physical therapy I have had in the last year has surly cost them more than what I paid.  My loss in wages of missed work alone would have covered this a long time ago and would happily find the money to pay for it again as having my life back without daily pain is freedom and happiness that I had lost and now have back...THANK YOU!P.S.  I will be back for PRP for my neck.  It is not as painful as my back however I truly believe it will alleviate that pain as well.

This review is for PRP, not stem cell because it was good enough for me.  I heard about Regenexx in 2014 from a neighbor.  I was having issues with my spine from the top of my neck down to and including SI Joints/hips.  I had trouble turning my head past 45 degrees without it locking up, my middle back was killing me and my knees hurt just stepping off a curb much less walking down stairs.  My legs/hips would be stiff after getting out of the car after a long drive.  Cervical MRI showed 2 moderately and 2 mildly bulged discs in my cervical alone.  So we started there with PRP but Dr. Handleman also went lower to the bottom of my shoulder blades.  After 3 procedures, I did a thoracic MRI and the problems it showed were below the upper the thoracic we did.  Worst was a severely bulged disc in the middle back at T9-T10.  So we did 4 procedures on that along with some lumbar and SI Joints.  After the 4 procedures I re did the Thoracic MRI and the bone spurs are still there but no more bulged disc.  Looks like all the other discs.  I'm sure it healed the ligaments too because after 2.5 years the bone spurs were no worse, so the instability must be pretty much gone.  Less than two weeks ago we did a 4th procedure on the upper neck/2nd on SI Joints and I'm feeling great.  I can assure you if I re did my cervical MRI in a month it wouldn't find a bulged disc.  Also did 1 procedure a while back for miniscus/cartilage and quad tendons both knees and they feel much better.  As far as instant results;  before my knee procedure I got acute tendonitis in my right shin tendon.  You could feel and hear the creeking as I raised my right toe up and down.  I could barely walk.  When I came in to do my knees Dr Handleman also put some PRP into that tendon.  Next day creeking gone, I'm walking no problem, and it never came back.  I'm sure that problem was a result of pinched nerves in my back/SI Joints.For some perspective....I'm 44 years old and consider myself to be in excellent shape.  I've never had orthopedic surgery.  I've never smoked.  I don't take pharmaceuticals, prescription or over the counter.  I weight train and do situps at the gym as well as jog.  Even when I was having my issues, I pushed through it.  I try to eat healthy, fruit and raw vegetables every day, raw nuts, low carbs, a lot of water.  I've been taking high quality supplements since I was in my early 20's and have been adding as time went on from Puritan's Pride and Life Extension.  Why I mention this is because all this plays a huge role in your results/outcome.  I've had incredible results but that doesn't mean everyone should expect the same.  That being said, you owe it to yourself to try this before surgery, you got nothing to lose.  These procedures absolutely work and have been worth every penny and more.  This is true health care and the future of orthopedics.  It's just a shame that insurance companies are so stubborn about covering it.  Eventually they will, but I didn't have that kind of time.  The earlier you catch a problem the easier it is to fix it.....wait for a severely bulged disc to rupture and you'll be lucky if you heal it with stem cell.
