Wayne Wolfe's Online Review Report Card

Dr. Wayne Wolfe has been my PCP for 3 years now. Ive never felt as heard and understood before. He is thorough, really listens, Is thoughtful in his assessments and his advice. I hope he never leaves One Med, Id probably try to follow him to his new practice. I have recommended him to family and a friend, but unfortunately his practice is full.

First let me say I am and experienced patient (17 major surgeries and many other tests and biopsies over the past 20 years), so Im really tired and VERY skeptical of doctors and the medical profession in general.  I recently switched from 15 years with Kaiser, back to Blue Cross, so I had to replace about 10 docs and thank goodness for Dr. Wolfe!  I met him last week for the first time and I was SO impressed. Hes very knowledgeable, hes not intimidated by my questions (or all the stuff going on with me), hes open minded, he was a pain doc for 6 years (so he gets THAT part of my treatment) and overall, hes a very likable guy   I cant recommend him more highly (keeping my fingers crossed that Im not putting him on a too soon pedestal but I dont think so).The ONLY downsides are the whole Med One $200 annual fee for special things that really, all docs are offering nowadays, and the fact that Med One isnt on either of the 2 main electronic medical systems in my area (UCSF and Sutter), so I have to make sure they get all my labs and doc notes from EVERY other doc....which in my personal case, is a big PITA.That being said, I really feel like I have a good doc now who can be the leader of my team and really help coordinate all my issues before, it was only me, bringing things to docs and trying to figure it out on my own, so YEA!!!!

Ive been seeing Dr. Wolfe as my PCP since January. He has helped me navigate some truly serious health concerns to good outcomes. He is professional, knowledgable, down to earth, and sincerely cares, with a good sense of humor too! Dr. Wolfe is the man!

I dont know about Dr Wayne but I do know this outfit is very unprofessional to say the least.  I just got off the phone with their so called office but Im pretty sure it was just a call center.  When I inquired about Dr Wolfe I was informed he hasnt taken patients for two years and then the guy hung up on me.  Well done!

I moved to work with One Medical from another local medical group in Marin. I love their technology and app which allows me to book appointments, refill my prescriptions, and email with my doctor. I saw doctor Wolfe initially and he has been fantastic to work with. I had a long term medical condition that my other docs could not solve, and working with Dr Wolfe we found the right medication to fix the problem. He was open to my suggestions and took the time to get to the root cause of the problem. The annual fee is a bargain to have access to the technology alone.

Dr. Wolfe is the best! He is knowledgeable, caring, a fantastic listener, asks spoton questions, and gets to the heart of the problem in no time. He considers all approaches and a patients lifestyle to ensure that he is treating the personnot just the medical condition. I had a horrific tension headache but with unusual side effects and he asked me to come in immediately if that ever happened againjust come in! I did. He examined me for about 5 minutes, asked lots of questions, consulted medical resources, and then massages a few pressure pointsfirst to induce the odd side effectsthen to relieve them. He explained exactly what was going on, showed my husband and me diagrams, told us what to do the next time this happened, and prescribed a special ointment for site specific pain and muscle spasms. Genius! All in a 15 minute appointment. We learned more and felt confident and empowered leaving (versus frightened and concerned when we arrived). The man is a genius and compassionate.

I have been taken care by Dr. Wolfe for about a year and a half. He is conscientious and enthusiastic getting back to my email messages promptly.

I read he is a great doctor, but if youre not going to accept me as a patient, get off the web. Dont waste your time trying to make an appointment. You cant. Even though he is listed with Brown and Tolland and another rip off, Medical One.  Call, and they say sorry, thats unfortunately the way medical listings work are these days.  Dr. Wolfe is fantastic...but....

Fact: going to the doctor sucks. But at some point in your life, youll need to visit a doctor (and you should). Another fact: Dr. Wolfe is as good a GP as youre going to find in Marin.Ive been seeing him for the past few years. Dr. Wolfe (or Wayne, as he encourages you to call him) is very easy to talk to, and has a great sense of humor. He truly listens to your medical concerns/questions. And he explains things in a nonintimidating, downtoearth way. He truly helps take the pain away from going to the doctors office. Best of all, scheduling a time to see him is never a problem (thanks to One Medical Groups online appointment system). Plus, Dr. Wolfes office is very prompt at responding to emails/medical inquiries.I hope none of you have to visit a doctor any time soon. But if you do, I cant recommend Dr. Wolfe enough.

Its taken me awhile to write this review for Dr. Wolfe because I will never be able to sufficiently thank him for all that he has done for my health and my life in general actually. I had previously seen an excellent Naturopath through One Medical, April Blake, however, when her appointments could unfortunately no longer be billed through insurance, she referred me to Dr. Wolfe. I was dealing with a chronic health illness and, prior to working with April, had suffered through a series of dismissive and shortsighted doctors through Kaiser who misdiagnosed this illness, so I was understandably reluctant to face another MD. Within the first minutes of our initial appointment, Dr. Wolfe acknowledged and validated both the severity and emotional toll of this health challenge and offered me compassion, empathy and support that I had never experienced in an doctors office through my insurance. I think I cried in my car afterwards because I was shocked to hear that level of compassion from a doctor. For many reasons, I had been reluctant to take the time off necessary to address my health issues, and with all the insight and skill of a counselor, Dr. Wolfe offered me a thoughtful perspective which incorporated my concerns, but allowed me to take this next step. Without his support, I would not have the opportunity to learn how to take care of myself without having to simultaneously navigate and fight the skepticism of many mainstream physicians along the way. I could just focus on healing without having to fight the system to do so and I am eternally grateful to him for this.Dr. Wolfe is a progressive integrative doctor who has been supportive of my leaning towards alternative medicine as he incorporates the whole person perspective in his view of health. As a person in a healing profession, he has also been an inspiring role model to me through the balance he values in his own life and emphasis on limiting stressors while being in a human service profession. He is primarily an excellent openminded (and funny to boot) physician, but also a gifted mentor and counselor in a way when it comes to life balance. Dr. Wolfe has truly been a hero on my road to recovery and I applaud him for stepping so far away from the negative stereotype of the current health care model to prove that a doctor can do great work with a heart. Im very very lucky to have him on my side!
