MIchael Tseng's Online Review Report Card

I am writing this review on behalf of my grandfather, who was one of Dr. Tseng’s patients in 2018. My grandpa, who was 82 at the time of surgery, had a severe pinched nerve and couldn’t even sleep without his pain medication. He says Dr. Tseng is very knowledgeable and patient. Dr. Tseng’s expertise has helped my grandfather make a full recovery after a laminectomy!

Dr. Tseng is excellent. He takes time with you and really listens.

My experience w/ Dr. Tseng was positive & amazing. I had a severe case of a pinched nerve and used a cane for 8 months. After many visits to a pain management doctor and several cortisone shots (with zero results) I was referred to Dr. Tseng for surgery. I felt at ease from the start. He was very reassuring and I had complete faith in him right away. I had a lamenectomy on L2,3 4, & 5. I spend the night at Alta Bates and was released the next day. I was able to climb the 15 steps to my condo w/o a problem (I was 79 yrs old). The nerve pain was gone. All I had to do now was heal from the surgery. The healing went well and now I'm pain free and going on w/ my life. I'm so glad I had this done; and so grateful that I had a knowledgable doctor.

It took almost 2 years for Dr.’s to figure out exactly what was wrong with my neck. Then I was sent to see Dr. Tseng and it took him about 5 minutes to figure out what was wrong. He asked me what my symptoms were so I told him. From there he was able to diagnose my exact problem even before he looked at my MRI. The MRI confirmed just what he believed and I knew right then that I was in good hands with Dr. Tseng. My surgery so far has been a success. Dr. Tseng is always available to speak with me if I have questions or concerns. He even called me back from a family vacation he was on and was able figure out over the phone why I was having an excruciating headache. I’ve had 5 surgeries including this one and by far this has been the best experience I’ve had while dealing with a Dr. Hopefully you’ll never need to use Dr. Tseng but if it is necessary, you could not find a better surgeon.

Dr. Tseng gave me my life back

Dr. Tseng has done an excellent job in treating my lower back issues. He took a conservative approach and verified that nerve impingement was a cause of my leg weakness and part of the cause of neuropathy in my feet. The surgery he did on L-4 through S-1 included laminectomy and foraminotomy has been very successful and the recovery is going very smoothly. I highly recommend Dr. Tseng and his Webster team for any spine issues.

This doctor is thorough and patient. He listens and asks questions for better clarification about my pain and physical condition. After talking with me about treatment options, he respected my decision. My treatment with Dr. Tsing is ongoing.

Before surgery I could do very little. After surgery I am at least 75% improved. Dr. Tseng and the care team at Alta Bates, Berkeley were excellent: informative, caring and skilled.

Before my surgery my left arm felt useless I had sharp pains shooting into it in different areas that were always changing, I felt like I had no strength in my arm even at times when I did. My fingers and toes would fall asleep within 5 minutes of me sitting down. I had headaches all the time and trouble sleeping cause I could never get comfortable. After my surgery I felt immediate relief. All my symptoms were gone as soon as my anesthesia had wore of, like a giant burden that had been holding me down was lifted. It had been so long that I did not realize how uncomfortably I had been going through each day until I was fixed. I will never be able to express just how thankful I am to Dr Tseng for what he has done for me. I feel young and full of energy everyday when I wake up and I had surgery less than 2 weeks ago how exciting is that. Thank you so much again Dr Tseng.

Amazing, personally I would not have chosen a male doctor however so happy Dr Tseng was my physician , awesome experience
