Dr Emmerson performed a total hip replacement for me. I could barely walk a flight of stairs but now!! Dr Emmerson's I want to thank you for the Better quality of life since the replacement.. Amazing Dr!!!!!

I needed both my hips replaced this past year. Dr. Emmerson did an outstanding job. He listened to me, professional, personable and excellent at what he does. I highly recommend him.

Dr. Emmerson is an amazing and very talented hip and knee replacement Doctor. He did both hips for my wife and two week ago did my right hip. I was able to walk without a walker or cane after two days and in just a short two weeks later, I feel 100% normal when walking. My right leg was one inches shorter than my left leg and he fully corrected that too and it has made a world of difference. Dr Emmerson uses the anterior approach and in my opinion that is the only approach that anyone should use, this approach does not cut through any muscle and therefor a much shorter recover time and better outcome. He is also very easy to talk to and when you talk to him you will know that he really cares about you and your problem. My in home therapist told me that my recovery time and range of motion was extremely fast as compared to most people and I think that is mostly due to Dr. Emmerson's skills. Everyone will heal at different rates and I feel grateful that mine was so fast, but please make sure you listen to your therapist and Doctor before you stop using your walker and cane.

My Husband Ken had both knees replaced with outstanding quick healing results. One of the legs was badly bowed, yet he was doing walking with no problem after 6 days. Dr Emerson is the Best ever!

Dr. Emmerson replaced my knee on 5/17/21. After exceeding all therapeutic goals for physical therapy, my knee is like new. He did an exceptional, fantastic job at total knee replacement! Thank you, Thank you, Dr. Emmerson!!!

Dr Emmerson has been treating me for at least 5 years.....It’s finally time for my replacement and am looking forward to feeling much better after bending bone on bone for quite a while.

Dr Emmerson was fabulous!! I had total right knee replacement on May 14, 2020 and everything about the pre surgery, surgery and post surgery were perfect. The pre surgery meetings with Dr. Emmerson demonstrated he was completely knowledgable, qualified and supportive. The surgery was flawless and I was completely comfortable, waking up with an amazing feeling of well being. The post surgery procedures by Dr. E and all the medical staff were completely professional with amazing positive support. I love Goleta Valley Hospital for it's comfortable and homey atmosphere. Now I've completed all my at home physical therapy and half my therapy at SB Physio and I've been amazed at their dedication, professionalism and positive support. Dr. E is a great listener and has outstanding answers and suggestions for all my questions about what to expect during the course of my recovery.
