I felt confident about healing and taking care of myself after a pep talk and directions from Dr. Shepard. I have not needed therapy, but it was kindly offered as an option should Ii need it.

My husband was involved in a major head-on auto collision in November, 2020. Though the accident happened in SLO county he was taken to SB for treatment. Luckily, Dr. Eric Shepherd handled his care. He had 52 fractures, including a smashed R leg. 20 months later and 4 surgeries later his is finally on the mend. Dr. Shepard spends at least 45 minutes with my husband and I each visit. He has given us his cell phone and has promptly responded the few times we have had to use it. He is very patient and thorough in his responses to our questions and is honest when asked what he recommends next. My husband still cannot find a local orthopedic surgeon who will take on his care (not that Tom would even consider going to another MD). He has had several set backs but each was dealt with expertly by Dr. Shepherd. We would highly recommend him! My husband says he's a miracle worker!

I have had a great experience with Dr Shepherd. When skiing I sustained a compression fracture to my knee when skiing A sports specialist referred me to Dr Shepherd because the procedure required a trama specialist. Dr Shepherd explained my options and I chose the the most involved option that offered the best out come. I am 7 weeks since the surgery and am in the recovery mode. Every thing looks perfect and will be looking forward to skiing in 2023 after my 70th birthday. I have had a great experience with Dr Shepherd. Dr Shepherd has been very good at explaining what the status of my injury is and what the forward treatment is. His discusion with the patient (me) is understandable and straight forward. I have always left his office with confidence I am being treated the best.
