I made an appointment for dry needling with Mario after experiencing weeks of back pain in my third trimester of pregnancy. Mario walked me through what dry needling is (as I really didn't know very much about it) and was very reassuring in letting me know that we could start with that treatment and assess what other methods might also be beneficial for the specific pain and tightness that I what experiencing. I've had several acupuncture and dry needling sessions to treat tension headaches and migraines. I've noticed a decrease in the intensity and duration of my tension headaches. I continue to manage my migraines with preventive medication but also have been seeing improvements in migraine headache pain since starting acupuncture and dry needling. I was seeing a great Physical Therapist for a knee injury when he suggested a technique called dry needling offered by Mario at Gallina Acupunture. Dry needling is used to relax trigger points and help tight muscles to function more effectively. A chronic case of Lyme disease and the accompanying inflammation has made building up muscle strength especially challenging. Mario's expertise and techniques have helped immensely! After the very first session, both my knee pain and muscle tightness were significantly reduced. As a result, I decided to see Mario for other issues including a tight, painful shoulder which was the result of an older injury. After only one session, my shoulder had more range of motion than it has had in years and I currently have no pain! Amazing! While my knee is much better, as I've increased activities, I've had a couple of set backs in my recovery. Mario has been an incredible and trusted resource for helping me get back on track! He's a good listener and empathetic practitioner with a positive, caring and encouraging approach who is dedicated to helping his clients get better.
