The Mental Wellness Center in Santa Barbara has been a tremendous resource for me as I learn about how I can help my loved one deal with his diagnosis of schizoaffective disorder. More importantly the Mental Wellness Center has given me tools that help our entire family understand the diagnosis and be supportive of our loved one. With a multitude of opportunities for forming a compassionate encouraging and nurturing community as well as an offering of great educational options the Mental Wellness Center is a tremendous resource for our community.

The Mental Wellness Center is an amazing organization that provides very valuable resources to the Santa Barbara community. The leadership is extremely dedicated to helping people meet critical and basic needs as a foundation for their wellness. The Mental Wellness Center provides a vast array of services such as housing education and community to those in need and we all need help as some point in our lives. Five stars

I am a volunteer on the education team at the Mental Wellness Center. Our team teaches a program called Mental Health Matters in both the 6th and 9th grade classrooms. The curriculum focuses on opening the conversation about mental health and mental illness educating students about the stigma associated with mental health disorders and providing suggestions for ways students can deal with the stresses in their lives.Because of the support of the Mental Wellness Center we are able to provide much needed education on a very important topic. Here is a recent reaction from a High School student after participating in our curriculum. Thank you for all the new and useful information you have provided to not just this class but the future of the world as we pay it forward. Future generations will be easier for many all thanks to the guidance of groups like the MHM team.

A couple years ago I went for a few months I enjoyed my time there. Plus I was a volunteer. Helping after lunch clean up Mondays I volunteered at the little thrift store called the care closet I really loved helping. I also help sort stock closet. Then I had to take care of other health needs my sister passed I was in a bad place so for a few months I volunteered at alano club was a member... I soon got so many hours I had to take a break for more health issues. Now Ive decided to go back where I felt I had helped more people than club. Since the people there at center where they need my help more than alano. So I will see you soon back at wellness center

As a member of this once dignified and none judgemental place that I had hope for my PTSD and depression to be better controlled with respect and basic dignity. I find that now under the new director that he is going into a new direction. Welcome to Devero 2. Where you have to have a babysitter in order to maintain your symptoms of an illness with simple art. What Im saying is that I have been a long time member and this place can do Better Much Better and to treat its members with dignity and like ADULTS..
