First time hear was great
This is the most unprofessional doctors' office I have EVER dealt with. For my first appointment, upon referral from our pediatrician, I called and called and called, leaving message after message over the course of 10 days to get an appointment for a fairly urgent knee injury with my 8 year old. Finally in desperation I requested that my pediatrician call to get their attention, which finally worked. I pulled my son out of school in the middle of the day, and we waited FOR MORE THAN AN HOUR before Dr. Early saw him, he spent literally less than 3 minutes with us and said, oh that is odd, let's do an MRI. We did an MRI. The results from that MRI have been back to Dr. Early for more than 3 days now and still I have had no call or follow-up. I did immediately get a friggin bill for nearly $400 from Early. I have no idea what this is for or if they sent it to my insurance company. Does he charge $100 per minute???? because I had about 4 minutes total with him. This type of shoddy service has no place in our community and should not be tolerated. I am a lawyer. If I treated my clients this way, I would be out of business in a fast minute.
Good bedside manner, smart, knows his stuff. Scoped my left knee in 2008, no lasting effects. Back to normal life. He also fixed a friends knee that was torn apart from a skate boarding accident. Flawless reports and service.
He has treated both my boys since birth for clubbed feet. He is never in a rush with us, either in appointments or when surgery is advised (we've waited years to actually go through with it). Always kind, caring and patient. Laughs when my boys are crazy and wild in the appointment and just goes back and forth between them. Today he was kind enough (unheard of I imagine these days) to offer me guidance on my own clubbed feet issues. I am so grateful to know Dr. Early (McGuire is awesome too)! You may wait in the waiting room for a while - but as they say, the wait is worth the while.
Great with our children.
Dr Early has been amazing with three generations of our family! He was the on call orthopedic surgeon when my grandma fell and horrible breaks to her left leg and foot. Despite being a 'pediatric' doctor he did amazing with her and all of her complicated medical conditions and medications. A few years later when I had a fall of my own I called to see if he would be willing to take an adult for a nonemergency and there was no problem. My daughter broke her foot and he was amazing with her.
Five stars? Really? REALLY! Four surgical procedures; a dozen follow-ups .. for this that and the other thing. Every single procedure/every single visit, I felt the love. Dr. Early is a gift to those who of us whose lives got plopped into his hands. All true! (and then some)
Disappointed in every way in this office. I brought my daughter in for knee pain. The doctor did not even touch her; he just asked her some questions and gave a cursory diagnosis (her recent growth spurt) and ordered her into x-rays. When I stopped him and asked "will anything you see on an x-ray change the course of her treatment?" he admitted that it would not, and said she needed a knee brace from CVS and time. The bill for that day? Nearly $400. When I called a few months later and asked them to write a referral for physical therapy because her knee did not "improve in time" as he had suggested it would, they told me he'd need to see her again. FOR FOUR HUNDRED DOLLARS. I explained that nothing had changed and asked if I could talk to the doctor directly. The receptionist basically told me she'd give him my message but he would likely never call me back. On top of it all, the front desk staff is rude and they NEVER answer the phone--not ever. You have to leave a message every single time and hope they'll call you back. These guys wouldn't last a day in a big city where there was actually competition. I wouldn't go back to this office if you paid me.
Dr. Early is a great doctor. Only complaint I would have is he tends to overbook appointments so expect to wait until a little while after your time to be seen. Other than that, he knows what hes doing and does it well.
In my opinion this doctor was not very good. He did not recommend the traction option (luckily the office partner doctor did on another visit) and he did not put stitches on the outside of my son's surgical opening... he now has a big scar.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
