Stephanie Burris's Online Review Report Card

Made an appointment to get my yearly prescription updated on recommendation from a family member. Dr. Burris is nice, however she can be quite patronizing when spoken to about logical concerns and specifics. She never finalized my prescription, and after trying out some trial contact lenses and attempting to make a final appointment, her receptionist insisted on charging me $70 to come back in because this was considered "extra labor" on their part... they never did their jobs in the first place so I did not finalize my prescription with Dr Burris. I also have always seemed to have trouble/confusion with the female receptionist there who is also very snippy and unpleasant on the phone. Although the male receptionist is always very nice. Genuinely had much better experience, same day appointment, and customer service from Dr. Tang who works out of the Target in Goleta, no joke. Which surprised me. I assumed for the expense I would receive quality care but I would never recommend this office to anyone... the family member who led me in her direction shares my view and now goes to Target too.

It is quite clear that Dr Burris is passionate about her profession. She is up to date on all of the latest and greatest treatments yet conservative and realistic in regards to patient outcomes and expectations. She thoroughly explains eye anatomy verbally and visually (with diagrams) and offers a multitude of adjunct treatment options (in addition to conventional treatments) while being conscientious about pricing and cost. She offers a VERY thorough eye exam and translates the diagnostics in terms that are understandable. The office is clean and tidy and the staff were kind and professional. Thank you Dr Burris!

Difficult to understand the prior 1-star review. I have been with Dr. Burris for about 10 years and I cannot imagine a more kind, soft spoken person who really takes the time needed to give a thorough exam.

Dr. Burris is a kind, conscientious, skilled, and dedicated optometrist. She both examines and explains things thoroughly; she has provided the best of care for over the almost decade. I’m immensely grateful to have her.

One of the rudest people, and a tone of voice that would upset anyone. Never again will I let her near me.

When this office transitioned from my previous eye doctor's retirement we wondered how anyone could keep the same great level of care. Dr. Santizo and Burris have done just that. They are thorough, and a great blend of professionalism mixed with caring. The eye glass shop still has Stephanie that dials in any pair to fit and a delightful new person whose name I can't recall at the moment but is also kind and capable.

I love coming here. The doctor is very knowledgeable, takes her time to listen to your concerns, the staff is very pleasant and I have recommended a few of my friends to come here. In my opinion, this office is “Top Shelf”. If you are looking for a great doctor, you have come to the right place.

Dr. Stephanie Burris is a gem and I always have the most informative conversations with her about my eye/overall health. She truly cares about her clients and I will continue to see her for as long as she is practicing and I live in Santa Barbara. They only recommendation for improvement I have is for the staff at the front, they can be adverse to suggestions that would make their process easier for clients. For example, not being open to e-mailing your prescription to you and sticking strictly to fax or in house pick up is a bit out dated.

My appointment with Dr. Burris was a great experience. She was thorough and professional, yet kind and understanding. I feel that Dr. Burris is one of a kind. I am recommending her to all my friends because they deserve the very best in optical care.
