This doctor is never on time. We have to drive an hour for our appointments and are told when we get there that he is running about an hour behind. There is never a call to let us know. This has happened on multiple occasions. He appears to be looking at test results for the first time when he walks in the room as if he has not prepared for the appointment and has not been able to plan treatment ahead of time.

Lack of knowledge. Inability to see the whole picture. He said that he would do more research and get back to me with a treatment plan. That never happened. Originally I made an appointment with him for the problems I have with my esophagus. However 1.5 weeks prior of seeing him, I had started to get extremely low blood pressure every time I eat 70/48. He looked at my BP I had when I checked in, and told me that it was normal indicating that everything was therefore normal. My BP was normal because I hadn’t had anything to eat. He could have had me eat something so he could see it for himself that it dropped drastically, but thinking outside the box is beyond this doctor. It was also very shocking to hear that he didn’t know that you can have a hard time breathing with acid reflux, and that it can make you dizzy. He is just one of the many doctors at Sansum clinic who can’t handle anything out of the ordinary and will most likely misdiagnose many patients.

I had my screening colonoscopy with Dr. Caves. He took the time to explain the procedure and what my results were. The staff were friendly and took the time to provide great care. I would recommend Dr. Caves.
