List of Vna Health Santa Barbara South County's Reviews
Very helpful service.
After shattering my left knee cap they came and taught me how to get on the portable toilet. I was immobilized for 6 months and they gave me amazing care
I was employed with the Visiting Nurses and Hospice Care in Santa Barbara briefly and while I was there, I experienced first hand the level of commitment and care that the nurses and therapists gave their patients. They truly go above and beyond to ensure that they give quality care and compassion in a timely manner. Their level of commitment shows by the bonds they establish along with the time and energy they give every day. All though my employment was brief due to a car accident, I was touched by the empathy I received during my lengthy healing process, and I'm grateful for the opportunity to have been apart of an organization that showcases these things on a daily basis. I would strongly recommend the Visiting Nurses and Hospice Care to anyone who finds themselves in the difficult position to need this kind of care. This staff is genuine and they truly care about helping the community.
Jo Ann Mackis the reason I am writing this review. My review 24 hrs ago would have been much different but she reached out to me after my experience that was less than stellar and renewed my faith that they may have something to offer people who have had a loss my 5 stars is for her, Jo Ann MackCOO for her professionalism, kindness and empathy
I am unhappy with the care my father received at Serenity House. He was transferred there from Cottage with only one day to live. I wish I would have insisted he stay at Cottage, it was too late to be moving him to another location and the staff at Serenity House didn't understand how to create a soothing and calm environment upon his arrival, it was extremely stressful for him to go there.
I can't say enough how wonderful Visiting Nurse & Hospice has been at my community in SB. We even have a caregiver who comes five days a week to help my residents, We love you Blanca. Everyone I've worked with has been so patient with the residents and helpful with the staff. A huge thanks to Jodi & her team!!! Such sweet caring people!!!
What would I do without the support I'm getting from Visiting Nurse & Hospice?!!! Barbara Pell, Nurse Case Manager is professional, knowledgeable, and personable. Alex, CNA, is a gem. I wouldn't want to be doing this without them.
Amazingly helpful and accommodating at an enormously difficult time. They were so on top of things, patient, sweet, did everything they could think of to help. I was amazed. Their home care division was not as good, so I was a bit nervous about using them but the hospice staff were fabulous and I wouldn't have made it without them. They did everything they could to make the last months of my husband's life comfortable and their support made it possible for me to keep him at home until the very end which meant the world to both of us. I really can't thank them enough for all they did for both of us.
The Visiting Nurse & Hospice of Santa Barbara is a wonderful organization. They have an excellent network of volunteers and dedicated professionals who are their for families going through death and dying issues; they help with such respect and compassion. They provide many resources beyond counseling. With their help, the family is able to stay together caring for each other through these difficult times. If you feel shy or too embarrassed to reach out for help from Hospice and Visiting Nurses, ask a loved one to call them on your behalf. You will be pleased with the dignity and respect that they bring into your home as they help with the challenges - medical and/or emotional - of dealing with cancer and other terminal conditions. Of all the non-profits in Santa Barbara, the Visiting Nurses/Hospice is a shining star!
My mother is receiving in home Hospice care from a wonderful team of nurses and health aides. There really are some amazing people in this organization. However, I rated VNHC only 3 stars based on a truly horrible experience I had with one nurse. Very cold, condescending, took the supportive position of my sister who decided to go on her scheduled week long vacay NOW. My "sister" and I are the only two family caregivers for my mother, who is most likely days away from dying.Who leaves an imminently dying parent to go "relax and have fun?" Relax and have fun? Huh? And what kind of person supports and encourages this??!!This nurse evoked the name of other Hospice staff in supposedly joining her in her praise of my sister's vacay plans. I find it hard to believe that ANYONE would condone this. I think this particular nurse needs to retire because she has developed the cold, heartless attitude that a lot of burned out medical caregivers of terminally ill people have. She is NOT a good representative of VNHC.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
