Dr Johnston is an outstanding cardiac surgeon. Him and his team saved my dad’s life and greatly improved his way of life by performing open heart surgery to repair his mitral valve and aortic aneurysm. Dr Johnston took the time to make my dad feel informed, and confident in the surgery, and was sensitive to his concerns while also being communicative and a great listener. I would recommend him and his team at Northwestern to anyone. We are forever grateful.

Dr. Johnston saved my life by replacing a large aortic aneurysm of the ascending aorta, replaced the aortic valve, bypassed an obstructed coronary artery all in one surgery 10 years ago. Dr. Johnston was professional and kept me informed before and after surgery on my wife. Very sincere and even let us pray ?? before the surgery with him. My wife was home after 5 days. Thank You Jesus for sending us to him. We were referred from another great surgeon Dr. Gillinov.

Dr.. Johnston performed a pericardectomy and P.F.O. repair on our 37 year old son with much skill and compassion. He literally gave our son a "new lease on life" for which we are forever grateful. We grade him beyond the 5 star rating. Thank you, Dr. Johnston.

Dr Johnston saved my life. He performed a double lung transplant on me in 2015. I was in critical condition and did a wonderful job of transplanting my new lungs!! Thank you Dr Johnston!!!!!!!

I want to thank Dr Johnston for saving my life. He performed a triple bypass on me 7 weeks ago. I am still in a recovery mode but great full to be alive. My family thanks you and I have a debt to you that I can never repay.

It has been 4 years since my surgery. I had a valve replaced due to an ascending aortic anuerysm and Dr. Douglas Johnston performed the life changing procedure that literally saved my life. I think of Dr. Douglas Johnston often and highly praise him to others and keep him in my prayers often. He is truly an outstanding physician! Dr. Johnston and his team Saved my father's life, he was very professional, explained every step and was very kind, I truly believe if it was not for Dr. Johnston and prayer my father's chances of survival would have been greatly diminished, he received the best care at Cleveland Clinic. Thank You

I required difficult and exacting surgery. Dr. Johnston completely put me at ease the morning of surgery. The surgery took much longer than expected but I'm feeling wonderful and am living a very active life. I would most certainly recommend this surgeon.
