List of Justin Bennet's Reviews
Staff is incredibly rude and sarcastic. Unable to get results from doctor and called numerous times. Is his staff even communicating with him ??? Finally needed to get my records and go to another doctor.
Almost killed me. He correctly diagnosed me with Crohn's, but had me on horrible treatment of steroids for MONTHS. I was in and out of the ER 5 times over the course of a few months, and every time he said that it was just a bad flare. Finally after the 5th visit, he did a colonoscopy to find that my bowels had swollen so severely they were almost sealed shut and were perforating. He didn't seem to care and said they could remove a large part of my intestines. After he left the room, the interim doctor and general surgeon closed the door and pleaded with me leave his care immediately. They graciously referred me to a new GI and surgeon at Stanford where they were able to help me. They were appalled at his care and informed me that his continued treatment would have likely proven fatal. His use of steroids and not proper treatment led to a second surgery and a much longer recovery process. In the midst of great pain and uncertainty, he had no sympathy or care. Stay away from him!
I was able to get in for a GI immediately. Dr. Bennett gave instructions immediately following recovery from the GI and I was expected to remember them. I called the office to get clarification of written instructions and it took several days for them to get back to me. Since then I have had an ultra sound and it took 10 days for results to be phoned to me. The follow up is now been scheduled at 3 months, due to office misunderstanding and doctor scheduling conflicts. Way to long. I would not recommend Dr. Bennet. He seems over committed and is not responsive enough.
Can’t wait to go to another doctor. Waited 19 days for him to return my calls for the results of a test he ordered. Got a VM saying my results were equivocal and borderline and to schedule an appt to discuss results. Called the office to schedule and am told the earliest appt I can get is at the end of next month. I’m done calling and begging this dr to do his job. I don’t trust Dr Bennet or his office staff who have been rude and unhelpful. I’m getting another opinion.
Horrible. Staff are not interested in helping in any way. Forgot to send test results multiple times. Let me sit at home sick for months without sending me to a specialist, after not being able to diagnosis the problem. Did not return calls. Had to plead several times to him to get a referral to either Stanford/UCSF. When I saw a specialists they were so surprised that I was not put on medication to stop the symptoms from getting worse, while a diagnosis was sought.
I like this dr. just fine and look forward to my appts w/ him. I bring my list of questions and he answers them. He has a good sense of humor altho I'm the one making the comments. He seems relaxed and unrushed to me, even if I'm the last appt and he's in his street clothes. His clarity and relaxed demeanor are the things I noticed about him first thing and my favorite thing about him. I appreciate plain speech, I ask him a question - he answers it. It took me over a year to get in to see this guy. My wait times have never been long. If you have 5 in the waiting room that's not bad since there are 3 dr's. Longest I've ever waited is 15 minutes. I'll keep seeing Justin Bennet until he can't help me anymore and refers me on. Maybe he should have 5 stars but I'm being conservative. Tks for reading.
I am mystified by criticisms of Dr. Bennett and his staff, because the circumstances they describe are so at odds with my experiences. He performed a colonoscopy and esophago-gastroduodenoscopy (the other end of my digestive tract) five years ago, and will be checking out my upper end again in a week or so (don't need the colonoscopy this time around, TBTG). To me he has been pleasant, knowledgeable, supportive, open to questions, and apparently willing to spend as much time as needed to put

I can't claim to speak for all patients, only for my experience, but I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to my dearest friends or family.
Dr. Justin Bennet is a knowledgeable, professional and courteous doctor.
Oh my gosh, who are these people rating Dr. Bennet and his awesome staff! Dr. Bennet and his staff were very kind , extra supportive, and saved my life! I was promptly given a rare blood test for a rare blood disorder - Chryoglobulinemia - which was complicated by a liver disease. I took a gruling cure that prompted Dr. Bennet to adjust treatment and try new things almost daily, kept him on his toes. He got me immediate transfusions, got me making red blood again when my body stopped, and supported my choices. I will ever be grateful. Sometimes only the complainers write in. Please don't judge Dr. Bennet by these. Sheere

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
