Dr Thaker's office is horrible. His office staff strung me along for a month and a half, not giving me an appointment but telling me it would be forthcoming. Then, when I was already 6 weeks into waiting (because Dr. Thaker himself had come recommended) they called me and left me a voicemail saying "due to access issues" they wouldn't be scheduling me. I have a genetic condition that gives me an 80% chance of getting colon cancer, and I told them this up front. And I was clear that if they were

Dr. Thaker and the staff at Palo Alto Medical Foundation were very nice and my procedure seemed to go well. However the overall level of customer service leaves something to be desired:A week after my procedure I'm having some abdominal pain and have been unable to reach anyone on the phone. I left a message yesterday after being on hold for 15 minutes and going through their operator twice. I did receive a call back this afternoon, but was at work and couldn't return it until 4:45. I waited on hold again until past 5, when I figured they'd gone home for the day.(I did see a doctor at a different facility and don't think my condition is urgent - knock wood! But I would think a patient reporting a potentially serious complication would get a better response.)

I have to recommend Dr Thaker MD ,who performed an easy and painless colonoscopy on Jan31st ,2019. I was a bit on edge about the procedure ,however his confident and jovial manner quickly had me in a relaxed state . I also can't say enough about his wonderful staff . He found 5 polyps ,one of them being rather larger than the other 4 .I even got to watch him locate and remove that one. I had previously done my research ,which informed me that Dr Thaker is the best ,and most highly rated Gastroenterologist in the Santa Cruz . Bravo Doctor ,and thank you for getting the potential trouble removed early .Thanks for making it so easy to get this done
